Wearing his trademark ‘Clinton Happens’ hat, radio talk show host Mark Levin, The Great One, appeared on Hannity & Colmes to face off the dynamic duo, Alan Colmes and loveable liberal Bill Beckel. Surprisingly, Levin and Beckel agreed on Israel’s right to defend itself from terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah. However, Alan Colmes attempted to champion Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter as ‘engaged’ in the conflict and George Bush as ‘disengaged’. Well, let’s just say Colmes got schooled:
ALAN COLMES, CO-HOST: Mark, let me ask you this: Israel certainly needs to defend itself, it certainly should defend it’s right to exist, but this administration has had nothing but disengagement. That has been their policy for the past six years. Clinton was engaged, Carter was engaged, Bush 41 was engaged with Lawrence Eagleburger. This administration, their policy has been disengagement. Isn’t—-
MARK LEVIN:—Excuse me, excuse me. Why are you excusing the enemy? Why are you excusing the terrorists?
COLMES: That’s not what I said—
LEVIN:—Excuse me! You’re blaming George Bush for Hezbollah killing Israels—
COLMES: I didn’t say that—
LEVIN:—EXCUSE ME! We have 140,000 American troops in Iraq, I would call that engagement [audience cheering], we have 20,000 American troops in Afghanistan, I would call that engagement.
Ouch.

John Kerry was interviewed by Alan Colmes to discuss his new plan, health care. This coming from a man who claims he isn’t in the running for the 2008 Presidential elections. Kerry says his health care plan is only for those who wanted to join, his ploy to get people interested. Funny how he was against Bush’s Social Security reform, which also was a voluntary program.
As usual, Kerry complains about the image the United States holds in—FRANCE:
JOHN KERRY, US SENATOR: For three years or more, this administration did not engage with France, Great Britain, and Germany in the effort to keep Iran from having nuclear weapons and our absence from that had a profound impact on their attitude.
As if the French did anything themselves.
WASHINGTON — The House headed late Friday toward a vote to raise the federal minimum wage from $5.15 to $7.25 an hour by June 1, 2009, phased in over three years. It seemed likely to pass the House but faced an uncertain fate in the Senate.
I’m not a minimum wage employee so I do not know the hardships of being one, however what I do know is, raising the minimum wage is not the answer, it is just a quick solution. Democrats drool at the possibility of being the so-called public champion and will do anything to get this type of recognition, even if that means it won’t work out in the long one. The minimum wage issue is exactly that kind of situation. The Democrats will scream and scream how this will help those working minimum wage jobs, but it won’t. What you’re not told is how many jobs will be lost or cut due to an increase in the minimum wage.
Businesses will cut jobs and make those who stay employed work harder to meet up for the 40% increase in their pay. I would assume 2 out of every 5 employees would be let go, thus creating a enormous amount of unemployment. However, like I noted earlier, Democrats will not make you aware of this, they only care about being the champion for the people.

“After German SS troops massacred 86 American soldiers at Malmedy in Belgium on Dec. 17, 1944, some units like the U.S. 11th Armored Division took revenge on captured German soldiers. In the Pacific, relatively few Japanese prisoners were taken in the brutal island fights. But the folks back home never heard about those things or what techniques were used to interrogate prisoners who might know where the next ambush would be. The American military did what they had to do in order to win. As General Patton once said to his army: “I do not advocate standing Germans up against the wall and shooting them — so shoot the sons of b——— before you get them to the wall. George Patton would not be allowed to serve in combat today. The New York Times would make sure of that. The International Red Cross would be all over Patton and his aggressive Third Army. Dick Durbin would be appalled. But it is Patton that we need right now to defeat the barbarians who would kill all of us in the name of Allah.”
On a side note, what O’Reilly wrote about is the subject of Keith Olbermann’s latest feud with the FOX News host. Olbermann is accusing O’Reilly of painting US troops as murderers. It’s quite ironic that Olbermann complains about this when he was all over the Iraqi abuse and murder cases.

Conservative columnist Debbie Schlussel appeared on FOX’s Your World With Neil Cavuto last week to discuss the pro-Hezbollah population in the United States. Schlussel, a Detroit resident spoke about the large amount of Hezbollah supporters in her area.

Come if you can:
WHAT: Solidarity With Israel RallyWHEN: Wednesday, July 19, 2006, Noon
WHERE: Freedom Plaza in downtown Washington, DC. (Pennsylvania Avenue, between 13th and 14th streets, NW). Closest Metro station is Metro Center.
WHY: The State of Israel is fighting on two fronts, in Lebanon and Gaza, and under constant rocket attacks into populated civilian centers in cities and towns along its northern border. The local Jewish community will show its unity in support of its brothers and sisters in Israel with a rally that will include Jewish leaders, local elected officials and others. Confirmed speakers include: the Honorable Daniel Ayalon, Israel Ambassador to the United States, U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.), U.S. Congressman Ben Cardin (D-Md), U.S. Congressman Robert Wexler (D-Fla), and Rev. John Hagee, National Chairman, Christians United for Israel.

Atlas has pictures and video of today’s “Stand With Israel” rally in New York.
In a word. Unbelievable. Tens of thousands of regular folks, all walks of life, came out to Stand with Israel. And stand they did. In broiling heat, the young, old, Jewish, Christian, chanted their support for Israel. It was gorgeous.Of course in this blue state of mine, the Democrats co-opted the event. The usual suspects Hillary, Weiner, Hevasi (remember his remark about shooting Bush)............ but the crowd was decidedly Bush as you’ll see when you view the Elie Wiesel VLOG.

Judge Terrence W. Boyle was nominated by President George H. W. Bush in 1991 for the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Boyle was never given a hearing during the the first Bush presidency, and lied in limbo until President George W. Bush re-nominated him in May of 2001. Judge Boyle was not given a hearing by the Senate Judiciary Committee until March of 2005. He was voted out of committee in a 10-8 party line vote in June of 2005. However, since then he has been awaiting a floor vote in the Senate. (Bio)
Judge Boyle, a graduate of Brown University, has lead a distinguished career serving as council to the House of Representatives, legislative assistant to the late former Senator Jesse Helms, an associate and partner of LeRow, Wells, Shaw, Hornthal & Riley law firm, and as a judge on the Eastern District of North Carolina for over 20 years. However, the Senate doesn’t seem to think judges like Terrence Boyle are qualified enough to deserve a vote on the Senate floor, a vote he has been waiting over a year for.
Judge Boyle has overwhelming support from prominent lawyers and his colleagues in North Carolina. Everett Thompson, a North Carolina lawyer and Democrat called Boyle “best trial judges”, “bright”, “fair”, and noted he has never been political about anything. Wade Smith, the chairman of the North Carolina Democratic party, says Boyle “makes his decisions on the facts”, not where someone stands on the political spectrum. You can read more praise from Republicans and Democrats alike on his DOJ web page.
Senator Elizabeth Dole and Richard Burr wrote a letter to their colleagues, informing them of Judge Boyle’s career and experience, encouraging a vote on the Senate floor as soon as possible.
Expose The Left has obtained a copy of Judge Terrence W. Boyle’s letter to Majority Leader Bill Frist and Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter about his held up nomination to the Fourth Court of Circuit Appeals.
In his letter to both the Senators, Boyle writes about conflict of interest issues he is accused of, which is apparently blocking the Senate floor vote.

Professor Kevin Barrett, a 9/11 conspiracy theory nut, appeared on Hannity & Colmes last night to spill out. I only wish Debra Burlingame was on to debate this liberal kook. For all of you liberals who are out there accusing me of classifying him as a liberal because I don’t agree with him, he interrupted Hannity, who is unable to ask an actual question, and labels FOX News as “extremist”.
Barrett’s opinions are celebrated on sites like Democratic Underground and several other liberal strongholds.
