Keith Olbermann has officially gone insane. On Thursday night’s edition of Countdown, he practically begged FOX News host Bill O’Reilly to say his name on television. Comedian Keith Olbermann did one of those lame “Factor Fiction” (emphasis his) segments last night, mocking Bill O’Reilly and Geraldo Rivera’s discussion on media “vampires”. Vampires, referring to the blood sucking media types like Keith Olbermann! The Olbersphere, a term coined by Robert Cox at Olbermann Watch, weighs in on Olbermann’s sad attempt to be funny.
The infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann launched into another of his famous “dramatic readings” of the transcript, interspersing snarky, too-hip-for-my-shirt asides that had The Laughing Stagehand in convulsions. Then all of a sudden, it was over. It just stopped. Color us disappointed. Where was the “fiction” Olby promised to expose? What were the “lies” that Mr Bill spoke? Um, well, you see, there weren’t any. Those two promises from The Schmuck were—all together now—more Olbermann lies.
Greg Sheffield at Newsbusters quips:
On last night’s “Countdown,” Keith Olbermann wondered why he still hasn’t gotten Bill O’Reilly to mention his name.
The usually sycophantic TVNewser actually reports about the incident for once, without any of his pro-Keith rhetoric.

I know there are more significant things going on in the world right now, but I just couldn’t help reporting on this debate. Cell-phone slugger Cynthia McKinney on Monday was before the Atlanta Press Club debating her Democratic opponent, Hank Johnson, just prior to the upcoming elections here in Georgia. Remember, Cynthia was a “no show” at two other previous debates, of which she was to be part, so I was kind of shocked that she showed up this time. I guess she’d run out of excuses, so I settled in and prepared to be entertained.
And I wasn’t disappointed.
Johnson was a complete robot – he never looked away from the questioning panel that I could see. However, McKinney looked several times like she wanted to smack Johnson (well, isn’t that her forte’?).

As animated as she was, she was the only entertainment here, and here are just a few of her most shining moments (satirical captions compliments of your humble blogger):

You got money from Republicans!

You accused me of what???

Well let me tell YOU something!

Oh, crap… I forgot the cameras were rolling!
She also did the typical non-answer of a key question – that question was whether or not she thought her encounter with the Capitol Hill police officer hurt her campaign, to which she responded “well, as a matter of fact, I was never charged with anything.” Yeah, right. And you wonder why the National Fraternal Order of Police, the State of Georgia FOP, local FOPs, and the Georgia Sheriff’s Association financially backed Johnson?
You can’t even tell the truth, Cynthia, yet all you do is speak about “truth to power.” What the hell does that mean? I’m STILL trying to get someone to tell me what that means! It’s a mantra that’s thrown around on the left, and it makes no sense to me. I believe in “power to TRUTH,” if you want to know my take on it.
Oh, and one of Johnson’s seemingly most egregious points of fact to McKinney was that Johnson has received campaign donations from Republicans! OH, THE HORROR! Yes, she even tells Hank that if he’s getting votes from Republicans, he might as well be a Republican. Whaaa??? Hank should have, if he’d have had the gonads, reminded Cynthia and the viewing audience that almost all of her campaign donations came from Muslims – and many of them on 9/11/01! And yes, in the end, she didn’t disappoint, as she gave us one of her most famous, idiotic, signature moral superiority arguments:
“Eisenhower reminds us that every dollar spent on war is a theft from the people, and I’ve brought more than $350M. Send me back to Washington so I can speak “truth to power’.”
Never mind the segue into this blather was very weak, and didn’t make sense. But this is Cynthia McKinney, after all. As Neal Boortz calls her, “the cutest little Jihadist in Congress.”
Oh, and by the way… I looked up her record on Congress.org, of which she so proudly boasts about her rating. And she has made some very powerful votes while in Congress. NOT! You want to know what her ranking is in the entire House? Try a whopping ranking of #408. The Congress.org site describes this ranking structure this way:
“Ranking in Chamber based on member’s 2005 Power Score. Formula based on position in Congress, actions taken to influence legislative agenda, and legislative successes.”
Remember, there are 435 members of the House, and Cynthia ranks #408. That’s #408 out of #435. What a RAVING success! She must have been bumped from #435 to #408 for that Tupac Amaru Shakur Open Records Act, HR4210. Yeah, right. By the way; the previous link to her Tupac action is courtesty of one of her biggest fanbase websites, ThugLifeArmy.
The last few minutes of the debate can sum up the whole thing. You can view that portion here.

Geoffrey Dickens at Newsbusters:
On last night’s Hardball, leftist and Pacifica radio talk show host Amy Goodman patted Chris Matthews on his back for his long held anti-war stance. Prior to a big anniversary celebration at Rockfeller Center, Goodman started to congratulate Matthews on MSNBC’s 10th year in business but then took the moment to slam its executives for firing Phil Donahue for his anti-war stance. Goodman roared: “they didn’t want him to be the face of this network, an anti-war face at a time when the other networks were waving the flag.” However when Matthews reminded Goodman that: “if being against the war was a problem here, I’d have been out of here about four years ago, ” the Democracy Now host quickly realized her error and made good by congratulating Matthews.
MSNBC hosts not having an anti-war stance? Obviously Donahue was the only show Goodman watched on MSNBC, because just about every host is against the War in Iraq and makes their opinion clear as day. Tucker Carlson, who hosts Tucker at 4pm and 6pm, said this about the War:
Carlson, on the Iraq war: “I think it’s a total nightmare and disaster, and I’m ashamed that I went against my own instincts in supporting it. It’s something I’ll never do again. Never. I got convinced by a friend of mine who’s smarter than I am, and I shouldn’t have done that. No. I want things to work out, but I’m enraged by it, actually.”
Chris Matthews said this last night:
Matthews: “Well, if being against the war was a problem here, I’d have been out of here about four years ago, because I`ve been against this war from day one, and that didn’t cost me a job.”
Keith Olbermann, need I say more?

On Tuesday night’s edition of Countdown, comedian Keith Olbermann named Rush Limbaugh “worst” in the world for commenting about the death of those who vote in and support terrorist regimes, such as Hezbollah:
“Our winner tonight: Comedian Rush Limbaugh. Suggesting that civilian deaths in Lebanon are necessary to stop terror. [mockingly impersonating a braggadocios voice:] ‘Until those civilians start paying the price for popping up these kind of regimes, it’s not going to end folks.’ That would be a little less alarming if it didn’t echo something another commentator said nine years ago. ‘The American people, they are not exonerated from responsibility because they chose this government and voted for it, despite their knowledge of its crimes.’ That was said by Osama bin Laden. Rush Limbaugh, following the logic and ethics of Osama bin Laden, today’s Worst Person in the World!”
Johnny Dollar at Olbermann Watch opines:
In the “nonpartisan” Media Matters Minute, “comedian Rush Limbaugh” was “worst” for no good reason (It was something about how civilian deaths are necessary to stop terror. If the “rule” is that there can never be civilian deaths, then it is impossible to defeat terrorists. Like we said: no good reason.)

McKinney is suing the AJC for reporting the truth:
NEW YORK A Democratic congresswoman from Georgia is suing The Atlanta Journal-Constitution for libel.Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney filed charges against the newspaper’s editor Cynthia Tucker and publisher John Mellott for an editorial column that ran in the Sunday July 30 paper about McKinney’s alleged altercation with police, according to All Headline News.
McKinney’s attorney, J.M. Raffauf, said the column describes McKinney whacking a police officer with her cell phone, a charge McKinney denies.
The suit says that other facts were misstated including a reported suggestion by McKinney that President Bush had known about the September 11 terror attacks in advance, and had allowed the plot to unfold so that he and his friends could profit from the resulting wars.
Sounds like she suggested it to me:
“We know there were numerous warnings of the events to come on September 11. What did this administration know and when did it know it, about the events of September 11? Who else knew, and why did they not warn the innocent people of New York who were needlessly murdered? … What do they have to hide?” asked Democratic Rep. Cynthia McKinney of Georgia, according to The Washington Post.

Last night, Ms. Underestimated posted about Palestinian’s staging deaths. The blog EU Referendum posted about “rescue workers” parading the dead bodies of children to the press, who just ate it up.

Keith Olbermann appeared on the Late Late Show Friday night. He didn’t mutter O’Reilly’s name once, but referred to the FOX News host as an “idiot”. Olbermann went on to claim that he was “neutral” because he did a number of reports on the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal in 1998. However, Olbermann did not note he quit the job because he was frustrated.

Olbermann Watch writes a description and rebuttal incase you weren’t around to watch it.
