Keith Olbermann has officially gone insane. On Thursday night’s edition of Countdown, he practically begged FOX News host Bill O’Reilly to say his name on television. Comedian Keith Olbermann did one of those lame “Factor Fiction” (emphasis his) segments last night, mocking Bill O’Reilly and Geraldo Rivera’s discussion on media “vampires”. Vampires, referring to the blood sucking media types like Keith Olbermann! The Olbersphere, a term coined by Robert Cox at Olbermann Watch, weighs in on Olbermann’s sad attempt to be funny.
The infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann launched into another of his famous “dramatic readings” of the transcript, interspersing snarky, too-hip-for-my-shirt asides that had The Laughing Stagehand in convulsions. Then all of a sudden, it was over. It just stopped. Color us disappointed. Where was the “fiction” Olby promised to expose? What were the “lies” that Mr Bill spoke? Um, well, you see, there weren’t any. Those two promises from The Schmuck were—all together now—more Olbermann lies.
Greg Sheffield at Newsbusters quips:
On last night’s “Countdown,” Keith Olbermann wondered why he still hasn’t gotten Bill O’Reilly to mention his name.
The usually sycophantic TVNewser actually reports about the incident for once, without any of his pro-Keith rhetoric.

The show features a satirical “Terrorism Awards” show with nominees including a “lone gunman” who shoots Tony Blair in the head as he sleeps with his wife; a 9/11-style video of terrorists crashing an airliner into the Houses of Parliament; and a Tel Aviv suicide bombing.
Hahaha. Real funny, right?

Wearing his trademark ‘Clinton Happens’ hat, radio talk show host Mark Levin, The Great One, appeared on Hannity & Colmes to face off the dynamic duo, Alan Colmes and loveable liberal Bill Beckel. Surprisingly, Levin and Beckel agreed on Israel’s right to defend itself from terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah. However, Alan Colmes attempted to champion Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter as ‘engaged’ in the conflict and George Bush as ‘disengaged’. Well, let’s just say Colmes got schooled:
ALAN COLMES, CO-HOST: Mark, let me ask you this: Israel certainly needs to defend itself, it certainly should defend it’s right to exist, but this administration has had nothing but disengagement. That has been their policy for the past six years. Clinton was engaged, Carter was engaged, Bush 41 was engaged with Lawrence Eagleburger. This administration, their policy has been disengagement. Isn’t—-
MARK LEVIN:—Excuse me, excuse me. Why are you excusing the enemy? Why are you excusing the terrorists?
COLMES: That’s not what I said—
LEVIN:—Excuse me! You’re blaming George Bush for Hezbollah killing Israels—
COLMES: I didn’t say that—
LEVIN:—EXCUSE ME! We have 140,000 American troops in Iraq, I would call that engagement [audience cheering], we have 20,000 American troops in Afghanistan, I would call that engagement.
Ouch.

Now this is the Krazy Keith we know and love. Kick off the opening spiel with a classic Olbyism:24 Iraqi citizens, including unarmed women and children, shot deliberately by US Marines.
That’s our Keith. None of those silly legalities like “alleged” or “accused”. Just declare guilt and prepare to pass sentence. KO later slips in that it’s a “preliminary conclusion”, which legally doesn’t even rise to the level of an indictment, but such fine points don’t carry much weight on The Hour of Spin.
Keith already convicting soldiers before they even stand trial. This coming from the same Keith Olbermann who claims Bill O’Reilly called US troops murderers. Hypocrite.

Surrounded by press secretaries of previous administrations and his own Tony Snow, President Bush joked around with the White House press corps in the James Brady room, which will be closed while it undergoes renovation.
When questioned if he thought if Mel Gibson should be forgiven, the President questioned “is that Sam Donaldson”, continuing he called the ABC correspondent a “has been”.
THE PRESIDENT: Is that Sam Donaldson? (Laughter.) Forget it. You’re a has-been. We don’t have to answer has-been’s questions.QUESTION: Ohhhhh!

Jane Hamsher, the feminazi blogger hired to promote Connecticut Senate candidate Ned Lamont, wrote a piece in The Huffington Post this morning, with this picture of Joe Lieberman painted black. It’s okay though because she is a liberal and after all liberals can’t be racist, right?

I am so sure the Congressional Black Caucus and the NAACP and the civil rights brigade will be protesting this disgusting use of blackface in political discourse. Oh, wait, never mind. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are campaigning against Lieberman, too.
That’s right, Jesse Jackson and the “Rev.” Al “Not Enough Black Voters” Sharpton will be campaigning for Ned Lamont.
Last year, liberal blogger Steve Gilliard compared Maryland Lt. Gov. and Senate candidate Michael Steele to “Simple Sambo”.

On Tuesday night’s edition of Countdown, comedian Keith Olbermann named Rush Limbaugh “worst” in the world for commenting about the death of those who vote in and support terrorist regimes, such as Hezbollah:
“Our winner tonight: Comedian Rush Limbaugh. Suggesting that civilian deaths in Lebanon are necessary to stop terror. [mockingly impersonating a braggadocios voice:] ‘Until those civilians start paying the price for popping up these kind of regimes, it’s not going to end folks.’ That would be a little less alarming if it didn’t echo something another commentator said nine years ago. ‘The American people, they are not exonerated from responsibility because they chose this government and voted for it, despite their knowledge of its crimes.’ That was said by Osama bin Laden. Rush Limbaugh, following the logic and ethics of Osama bin Laden, today’s Worst Person in the World!”
Johnny Dollar at Olbermann Watch opines:
In the “nonpartisan” Media Matters Minute, “comedian Rush Limbaugh” was “worst” for no good reason (It was something about how civilian deaths are necessary to stop terror. If the “rule” is that there can never be civilian deaths, then it is impossible to defeat terrorists. Like we said: no good reason.)

McKinney is suing the AJC for reporting the truth:
NEW YORK A Democratic congresswoman from Georgia is suing The Atlanta Journal-Constitution for libel.Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney filed charges against the newspaper’s editor Cynthia Tucker and publisher John Mellott for an editorial column that ran in the Sunday July 30 paper about McKinney’s alleged altercation with police, according to All Headline News.
McKinney’s attorney, J.M. Raffauf, said the column describes McKinney whacking a police officer with her cell phone, a charge McKinney denies.
The suit says that other facts were misstated including a reported suggestion by McKinney that President Bush had known about the September 11 terror attacks in advance, and had allowed the plot to unfold so that he and his friends could profit from the resulting wars.
Sounds like she suggested it to me:
“We know there were numerous warnings of the events to come on September 11. What did this administration know and when did it know it, about the events of September 11? Who else knew, and why did they not warn the innocent people of New York who were needlessly murdered? … What do they have to hide?” asked Democratic Rep. Cynthia McKinney of Georgia, according to The Washington Post.

On the 4pm hour of Monday’s The Situation Room, anchor Wolf Blitzer highlighted several political news stories, including Republican candidate for president, Gov. Mitt Romney (R-MA)’s use of the term ‘tar baby’. To some, the term is a racial epithet, however the true meaning of the word is a ‘sticky situation’, hence the term ‘tar’.
CNN’s Jack Cafferty joined the program Blitzer was finished reading the headlines with his ‘Cafferty File’ segment. Cafferty, who is know for his unscripted remarks, opined on the ‘tar baby’ situation and applied Romney meant the comment in a racist sense. However, Cafferty did not make the audience aware of his racist past:
CAFFERTY: I don’t have an assessment. It’s comforting to—to look at guys like Romney and the tar baby remark and—and know that we have such a—a high-quality stable of candidates waiting to take over the nation’s highest office. What the hell is he thinking? Tar baby? I mean, come on.
Cafferty has used several racial epithet’s of his own, even on CNN. The ADC notes Jack’s insensitivity towards those of Japanese descent:
It should be noted that Cafferty has a history of insensitive remarks towards many minority groups, not just Arabs and Muslims. In November of last year, he allegedly went as far as to crudely mock the Japanese language through a series of “ching” and “chong” noises.
Full transcript of the exchange:
WOLF BLITZER, HOST: A possible Republican presidential hopeful is apologizing for using racially charged words. Governor Mitt Romney of Massachusetts referred to the troubled Big Dig construction project in his home state as a tar baby, said it’s—said it at a fund-raiser with Iowa Republicans on Saturday. Romney now says he didn’t know anyone would be offended by the term, which some consider to be a racial epithet.### JACK CAFFERTY: I don’t have an assessment.

Representative John Dingell, a Democrat (no surprise there right? ) from Michigan – no surprise here either with Hezb’Allah firmly ensconced in Dearbornistan here and here) appeared on a Detroit television program Sunday alongside Republican Congresswoman Candice Miller. After Dingell said he would not take sides in the current Israeli – Hezbollah conflict, the host asked “so you’re not against Hezbollah?” Rep. Dingell replied with a resounding “no.”
This coming from one of the eight members of Congress who VOTED AGAINST a resolution supporting Israel.
UPDATE: Dingell said he was against the violence, not the entire organization of Hezbollah:
Q: You’re not against Hezbollah?
DINGELL: No, I happen to be — I happen to be against violence, I think the United States has to bring resolution to this matter. Now, I condemn Hezbollah as does everybody else, for the violence.
