Update: GOP To Take DeLay case to Supreme Court.

Looks like Tom Delay needs to re-activate his webpage. Tom Delay is on the ballot:

“A federal appeals court on Thursday refused to let Texas Republicans replace Tom DeLay’s name on the November congressional ballot.” via ABC.

And the left says it’s the right playing tricks with the vote. How the judge can make this ruling is amazing. Delay is not a resident of Texas. He’s a resident of Virginia. It is not legal for him to be on the balot. This is nothing more than a way to quell the true GOP cadidate.

A snidely little weasel that beat the crap out of the liberals in Congress every time they messed with him. So, in desperation they went to a Texas Democrat party prosecutor to file charges, then the prosecutor not getting an indictment shopped around for a grand jury that would, then most of the charges wouldn’t hold water.

MirCat: Delay said he didn’t understand the verdict, stating he was a resident of Virginia. So he isn’t hiding anything! I don’t know why the judge made this decision, but you cannot blame Delay! Maybe this judge is a Democrat and wanted to split the Republican vote to get a Democrat elected, which I wouldn’t doubt for a minute!

Imagina that. A conservative supporting the most corrupt politician out there just to piss off liberals.

And just after he posted this gem:

You forget, leftists only have one allegiance and that it to their only offically recognized religion of LIBERALISM!

Looks like you’re the one with only one allegiance. The conservative mantra: party before country.

It’s sad that some would rather have a divided country with the sole goal of pissing of their fellow countrymen, than have a united country with everyone working to make America a better place to live.

I hear ya man and Im with ya. I mean its not like the libs are casting aside Joe Lieberman for the sole reason that he supports the war effort.

No, Joe is being jettisoned because he has turned his back on every, single domestic issue that the left holds dear. Right? I mean he is against everything that the dems want, right? Right?

So what if the guy has consistently voted the party line for sixteen years, he isnt against the war so adios Joe.

Yup, working for a united America, thats the democratic party.

Like conservative don’t do the same.

It’s funny how back in 93 House Republicans adopted rules that would prohibit members indicted by a grand jury from remaining in a leadership position, only to turn around and try and change the rules when it would affect one of their own.

It’s also odd that a good christian such as Umnumzana has no problems with crooked and corrupt politicians when it’s one of their own.

It’s funny that a Dem has never brought up the fact that they have never had a rule such as this. They can be indicted for real crimes and even convicted and still keep their positions

Who is dividing the country? The Left! The Left is has been working against the war on terrorism in the hopes failure will return them to power. The Left is leading a social war on America, abortion, homosexual marriage, euthanasia, etcetera. To the Left a united country means submit to the left. So I would submit that the Left is dividing the country!

What do you want to know about Robert Byrd? I’m sure most people on this site know that Byrd is the longest-serving current member of congress, having served as an elected official for over 60 years. Most also probably know that, in his 20’s, he was an active member of the Klu Klux Klan. And, much like Pope Benedict XVI was able to recover from being a member of the Hitler Youth and go on to become the bishop of Rome and head of the Roman Catholic Church on earth, Sen. Byrd has gone on to earn a 100% approval rating from the NAACP’s Congressional Report Card for favoring the NAACP’s position in all 33 bills presented to the United States senate (2003-2004 session). Also, in June of 2005, Sen. Byrd proposed an additional $10 million in federal funding for the MLK memorial in Washington, DC, remarking that “with the passage of time, we have come to learn that his Dream was the American Dream, and few ever expressed it more eloquently.” If the reference to Sen. Byrd was an indication that you think DeLay can also move past his wrong-doings and be a better man for it in the future, time will tell.

Part of it is Joe’s cynicism… he takes credit for voting against certain bills but not voting for cloture when he knows full well thats the only way to block the bill. This allows him to take credit for things even though his actions were puprosely insufficient. He herald the Hamdum (?sp) case as a triumph during his debate knowing full well he let Alito skate through who (had Chief Justice Roberts had a vote) would have tipped the Hamdum case the other direction. He undermines the democrats and gives cover to Democrats in more conservative districts by his actions.
He is willing to publicly scold Clinton, even going so far as to censure him, but he won’t lay a glove on GWBsuh and will even scold those who dare do.
Lieberman has neglected his Connecticut constituents, he wouldn’t be in such a position of weakness if he had actually served his state. Lamont is people powered (and No- the entire state doesn’t visit the blogs everyday)... he was a nobody, and would not even be a threat had Lieberman actually had a leg to stand on. “Only the Constitution kept Bill Clinton from being the sitting President who ignored terrorists long enough for them to become the force they are. As it is, he is simply the ex-pres who did all that.”-Galaga.

Okay, here’s the thing that gets me about this outlandish and incredibly inaccurate claim: It’s a complete and total myth, and to perpetuate it is to expose yourself as totally averse to facts.

Clinton targeted bin Laden even before he moved to Afghanistan. In 1996, his administration brokered an agreement with the government of Sudan to arrest the terrorist leader and turn him over to Saudi Arabia. For 10 weeks, Clinton tried to persuade the Saudis to accept the offer. They refused. With no cooperation from the Saudis, the deal fell apart.

As Mr. Clinton prepared his re-election bid in 1996, the administration made several crucial decisions. Recognizing the growing significance of Mr. bin Laden, the C.I.A. created a virtual station, code-named Alex, to track his activities around the world.

In 1998, Clinton sponsored legislation to freeze the financial assets of international organizations suspected of funneling money to bin Laden’s Al Qaeda network but it was killed, on behalf of big banks, by Republican Senator Phil Gramm of Texas. In 1998, Clinton also signed a secret agreement with Uzbekistan to begin joint covert operations against Osama bin Laden and Afghanistan’s Taliban regime. U.S. Special Forces have been training there ever since, which is why the Pentagon was immediately able to use Uzbekistan as a staging area for forays into Afghanistan.

Clinton’s most public response, of course, were the cruise missile attacks directed against Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan and the Sudan, following the terrorist bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. Operating on limited intelligence—at that time, Pakistan, Uzbekistan and Tazikistan refused to share information on the terrorists whereabouts inside Afghanistan—U. S. strikes missed bin Laden by only a couple of hours.

Operatives of the CIA’s Special Activities Division made at least one clandestine entry into Afghanistan in 1999. They prepared a desert airstrip to extract bin Laden, if captured, or to evacuate U.S. tribal allies, if cornered. The Special Collection Service, a joint project of the CIA and the National Security Agency, also slipped into Afghanistan to place listening devices within range of al Qaeda’s tactical radios.

He lied about getting a blowjob from an intern. I can live with that.

Mr. Clinton has more past associates/friends in federal prison than a mafia don. How many of your associates are in prison?? None…me either. You would give up a testicle for a guy like this. It really isn’t about blow jobs with Mr. Clinton???

Now, I’m no historian, but I’m pretty sure Hillary was cleared of any criminal wrongdoing in the Whitewater scandal by independent counsel Robert Ray after the publicly funded $52 million investigation turned up nothing. And, to the best of my knowledge, Gary Condit was never an official suspect in the disappearance of Chandra Levy. And, correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure the Wall Street Journal reported that the National Archive officials looking into the Sandy Berger affair had determined “no original materials are missing and nothing Mr. Berger reviewed was withheld from the commission investigating the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.” Now, William Jefferson has pleaded guilty to bribery, and as far as I’m concerned, if Mr. Kennedy really cared about making this country a better place, he would’ve removed himself from the public spotlight years ago. And we’ve already covered Sen. Byrd earlier, so I guess you’re batting around .500, which, I admit, is pretty good. I think you’ve already given up your testicles. This is a requirement for membership into the “Girly Man” party.

And Whitewater put how many people in jail? Jim Guy Tucker. The McDougals. Web “I’ll just roll over one more time” Hubbell. All pardoned by Clinton when he left office. That is, the ones who were still alive.

You would put Clinton back in office? That’s all I need to know about your character.

You would re-elect the man who lied to a Federal Judge to deny a lowly administrative secretary her due process in a court of law.

Who was in illegal possession of over 1,000 confidential FBI files.

Who took illegal campaign contributions from a Communist nation and gave them missle launch and guidance systems in return.

Who was accused of molesting a democrat supporter (Kathleen Wiley).

Who was accused of raping a democrat supporter (Juanita Broderick).

Who took sexual advantage of an EMPLOYEE his daughter’s age.

Galaga. You left out Kosovo and Iraq. Clinton prosecuted wars against both. Non-UN sanctioned.

Whats that? You support the WAR? You fascist, Bush puppet! Get out! We’re working for a united America and we dont have room for your views.

You know, that’s pretty funny considering that Delay tried to have his name removed from the ballot, in FULL COMPLIANCE with Texas election law, only to have the DEMOCRATS sue to KEEP HIM ON the ballot. Is that how you work to make America better, by litigiously denying American voters the right to select a more qualified candidate?

The comment wasn’t aimed at Delay, it was aimed at the original poster who like to see Delay in office solely to piss off liberals.

I guess most of you here are to young to remember the years before 93 where politicians – both democrats and republican – didn’t always vote along party lines; there was something called bi-partisan politics. Up until the late 90’s both parties voted along party lines around 70% of the time, now it’s around 90%.

Now when a politician, on either side of the spectrum, decides to vote for a better America and against party lines they are criticized by their part – just ask Joe Lieberman or Lindsey Graham.

The moonbats on the far-left and wingnuts on the far-right only want a country that follows their extreme political ideology and are unwilling to compromise or negotiate with anyone.

seymour #53: I remember that time quite well and the Republicans had no choice, because for almost five decades the Democrats controlled both Houses of Congress and they ran it with an iron hand, and they gave no ground whatsoever to the Republicans. So, your figures and your analysis are totally incorrect. It has never been bi-partisan in the past century.

Seymour I’ve been old enough to vote for 30 years and I sure don’t remember a lot of bipartisanship.

As to economic prosperity under Billy Jeff: (1) The false dot.com economy produced most of the economic boom, he had nothing to do with it and his high taxes almost destroyed the economy. (2) The Republicans took control of Congress and pulled Billy Jeff kicking and screaming towards fiscal responsibility. (3) Our economy is much better now under george W. Bush than ever under your god Billy Jeff.

So nothing bad is Bush’s fault, and everything good can’t possibly be due to Democrat governance. Wow. Why even bother with elections then?

Yeah, and Clinton had rebuilt Camelot only to watch W burn it to the ground. Hooray for false dichotomies.
