Expose the Left
July 29, 2006

Keith Olbermann appeared on the Late Late Show Friday night. He didn’t mutter O’Reilly’s name once, but referred to the FOX News host as an “idiot”. Olbermann went on to claim that he was “neutral” because he did a number of reports on the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal in 1998. However, Olbermann did not note he quit the job because he was frustrated.

Newsbusters has video and audio.

Olbermann Watch writes a description and rebuttal incase you weren’t around to watch it.

KO is straight down the line in my eyes…Unlike the number 1 propagandists, where you get 5 hours of far right (so called) news coverage a night.

Only those with brain damage would watch Olbermann or consider him in any way non-partisan.

Then again, pretty much everyone on the left is suffering from at least mild retardation, so Im surprised his viewership hasnt gone up.

Of course, you need to be able to actually turn on the tv which is an action that goes beyond the ability of most libs.

Olberman is just using this O’Reilly hate gimmick to garner publicity, which it has done a good job of doing. He played the conservative MSM like a well-tuned fiddle. I’m pretty sure he will lose the spotlight though now that Mel Gibbons, creator of the vile filth called the Passion of the Jesus, has gone on a drunken anti-semetic rage. He’ll definitely make worst person in the world, so at least the leprechaun will get a break.

What exactly does Mel Gibson have ANYTHING to do with this conversation?

    Absolutely nothing, of course.

I’m an Atheist myself, so I couldn’t care less about his “Passion” movie.

However, the guy is still one of Hollywood’s biggest draws no matter how offended you were by a single movie that you probably never watched.

I never saw the movie either, but I’m also not offended by it.

Perhaps you should develop some thicker skin and live with it because Christianity and their symbols are here to stay whether you like it or not, just like the Mt. Soledad Cross.

    Who cares?

Focus your venomous outrage on the religious zealots and Islamic fundamentalists who want to kill us instead of worrying about Christians making movies or not wanting to remove a cross that has been sitting there for more than 50 years.

I have criticized them for using thier the faith in Allah, as a tool to wage war agianst the West and Israel. I have no problem with them praying to and worshipping Allah. I think all faiths are stupid fairy tales that only the weak need to live. That includes Islam and its preposterous claims about the afterlife; it includes Christianity and its (use Urkle voice here) “it depends on your interpretation” excuse of even differing accounts of the empty tomb.

Anaconda, you really are a fool. Thanks for your input on how the Passion of the Christ didn’t see you because you never saw it. But it’s been there for 50 years (only as a war memorial since 1992, after it was declared unconstituional) so its ok to make non-christians feel like second-class citizens because it has been that that long. Sounds like a pro-slavery argument. What is really unbelievable is that conservatives, of all people, are rallying for eminent domain (a Marxist idea) of the land. But their belief in fairy tales and zombies overrides (or dictates) their politics I guess.

You would have to be an idiot (or a bible-banger) to not see that the cross was turned into a war memorial simply to keep it there, not honor any troops. If anything it mocks what they fought for. Just look at the timeline.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that you resort to name-calling because that is what you do best when you can’t win a no-brainer of an argument.

I couldn’t care less about religion, spirituality, or Christianity whatsoever. I am not a believer, so it’s not something that I worry about on a daily basis, unlike you.

These things are not relevant or important to me, so why should I care?

    I don’t.

However, unlike you, I don’t look down on others who don’t share the same beliefs (or lack thereof) as I do.

Whether you believe it or not, it’s people like you and self-righteous other Atheists who want to radically change the country by removing every cross or symbol of Christianity on public display that make most of the country believe that Atheism is a general form of Satanism.

Do you want to remove all of the crosses at Arlington National Cemetery, too? Those crosses are being displayed on government-owned property, ya know.

    Let’s remove ALL of them!

I may be an Atheist, but I’m also a traditionalist.

We live in a great country that has worked just fine for 230 years.

This country doesn’t need radical changes, but we have jackasses like Michael Newdow and the ACLU filing lawsuits everyday trying to remove “In God We Trust” from our currency and the hundreds of times the ACLU have tried to remove a cross or symbol of Christianity from whatever else.

You have such contempt for Christians because you believe they are trying to impose their spiritual beliefs on you. However, you are a blatant hypocrite because you are imposing your lack of faith onto Christians by advocating that these symbols of Christianity be removed from the public view.

    Who’s the fool, here?

    Not me.

In case you didn’t realize it, roughly 5% of the United States are Atheist and the other 95% of the country believes in a “higher power” of whatever faith.

    Deal with it.

It must be absolutely horrific to live with such a low self-esteem that you feel like a “second-class citizen” by the mere presence of a symbol of Christianity like the Mt. Soledad Cross.

My advice to you is get the psychiatric help that you so desperately need since you seem to become so easily offended by the issue of faith that it is driving you to the point of insanity.

    GEORGE W. BUSH
    1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
    Washington, DC 20520

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    LAW ENFORCEMENT
I was arrested in Kennebunkport, Maine, in 1976 for driving under the influence of alcohol. I pled guilty, paid a fine, and had my driver’s license suspended for 30 days. My Texas driving record has been “lost” and is not available.

    MILITARY
I joined the Texas Air National Guard and went AWOL. I refused to take a drug test or answer any questions about my drug use. By joining the Texas Air National Guard, I was able to avoid combat duty in Vietnam.

    COLLEGE
I graduated from Yale University with a low C average. I was a cheerleader.

    PAST WORK EXPERIENCE
I ran for U.S. Congress and lost. I began my career in the oil business in Midland, Texas, in 1975. I bought an oil company, but couldn’t find any oil in Texas. The company went bankrupt shortly after I sold all my stock.
I bought the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart deal that took and used taxpayer money. With the help of my father and our friends in the oil industry, including Enron CEO Ken Lay, I was elected governor of Texas.

    ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS GOVERNOR OF TEXAS
I changed Texas pollution laws to favor power and oil companies, making Texas the most polluted state in the Union. During my tenure, Houston replaced Los Angeles as the most smog-ridden city in America. I cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas treasury to the tune of billions in borrowed money. I set the record for the most executions by any governor in American history. With the help of my brother, the governor of Florida, and my father’s appointments to the Supreme Court, I became President after losing by over 500,000 votes.

    ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS PRESIDENT
I am the first President in U.S. history to enter office with a criminal record. I invaded and occupied two countries at a continuing cost of over one billion dollars per week. I spent the U.S. surplus and effectively bankrupted the U.S. Treasury. I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in U.S. history. I set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any 12-month period. I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period. I set the all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the U.S. stock market.

In my first year in office, over 2 million Americans lost their jobs and that trend continues every month. I’m proud that the members of my cabinet are the richest of any administration in U.S. history. My “poorest millionaire,” Condoleeza Rice, had a Chevron oil tanker named after her. I set the record for most campaign fund-raising trips by a U.S. President. I am the all-time U.S. and world record-holder for receiving the most corporate campaign donations. My largest lifetime campaign contri-butor, and one of my best friends, Kenneth Lay, presided over the largest corporate bankruptcy fraud in U.S. History, Enron.

My political party used Enron private jets and corporate attorneys to assure my success with the U.S. Supreme Court during my election decision. I have protected my friends at Enron and Halliburton against investigation or prosecution. More time and money was spent investigating the Monica Lewinsky affair than has been spent investigating one of the biggest corporate rip-offs in history.

I presided over the biggest energy crisis in U.S. history and refused to intervene when corruption involving the oil industry was revealed. I presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S. history. I changed the U.S policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded government contracts. I appointed more convicted criminals to administration than any President in U S. history. I created the Ministry of Homeland Security, the largest bureaucracy in the history of the United States government.

I’ve broken more international treaties than any President in U.S. history. I am the first President in U.S. history to have the United Nations remove the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission. I withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law. I refused to allow inspectors access to U.S. “prisoners of war” detainees and thereby have refused to abide by the Geneva Convention. I am the first President in history to refuse United Nations election inspectors (during the 2002 U.S. election). I set the record for fewest numbers of press conferences of any President since the advent of television. I set the all-time record for most days on vacation in any one-year period. After taking off the entire month of August, I presided over the worst security failure in U.S. history. I garnered the most sympathy for the U.S. after the World Trade Center attacks and less than a year later made the U.S. the most hated country in the world, the largest failure of diplomacy in world history.

I have set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously protest me in public venues (15 million people), shattering the record for protests against any person in the history of mankind.

I am the first President in U.S. history to order an unprovoked, pre-emptive attack and the military occupation of a sovereign nation. I did so against the will of the United Nations, the majority of U.S. citizens, and the world community. I have cut health care benefits for war veterans and
support a cut in duty benefits for active duty troops and their families-in-wartime. In my State of the Union Address, I lied about our reasons for attacking Iraq and then blamed the lies on our British friends. I am the first President in history to have a majority of Europeans (71%) view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace and security. I am supporting development of a nuclear “Tactical Bunker Buster,” a WMD. I have so far failed to fulfill my pledge to bring Osama Bin Laden [sic] to justice.

    RECORDS AND REFERENCES
All records of my tenure as governor of Texas are now in my father’s library sealed and unavailable for public view. All records of SEC investigations into my insider trading and my bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view. All records or minutes from meetings that I, or my Vice-President, attended regarding public energy policy are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public review.

I am a member of the Republican Party.

PLEASE CONSIDER MY EXPERIENCE WHEN VOTING IN THE 2006 MIDTERM ELECTIONS.

I appreciate the kind words and praise.

Believe me when I say that you too have an uncommon wisdom and a point of view that I always respect because of your civility and eloquently detailed arguments.

Perhaps I am in the extreme minority, but I’ll never understand why other non-believers don’t think it is OK for people of faith to invoke symbols of spirituality and their beliefs in the public eye, but they think it’s OK to invoke their lack of beliefs onto others by removing these symbols of faith.

It’s hypocrisy at its core and has never made any sense to me. If someone believes that spirituality is nothing but “tales and myths,” then why are they so offended by such irrelevant things?

Harry Potter books are “tales and myths,” but I don’t see non-believers tripping all over themselves and trying to remove Harry Potter from the public view.

As I’ve said many times before, the only hard-lined believers that offend me are the ones who target women and children by blowing themselves up in pizza parlors, all in the name of “Allah”.

Our priorities should be on the people who want to kill us, not the people who want to display a cross at a military memorial.

You didn’t address anything about the timeline of the cross, so that’s clearly a swish. You bring up some b.s. about crosses on Alrington cemetary….the govenment doesn’t put them there. It’s up to the families, as it should be. It’s irrelevant to bring it up, and actually a right-wing myth that the ACLU wants to remove them. Also, how am I imposing athiesm on anyone? DO you see me asking for a giant 50 foot sign saying “There is no God!”? If not having a refeence to God makes something athiest, then I guess the Washington Monument qualifies for that (that’s 3 points, score it).

But you have absolutely no problem with folk “making fun of peoples faith and beliefs” when it comes to Muslims…A bit hypocritical me thinks. ;)

Smoker exactly what is it about Islam’s Quran and Hadiths demanding your murder, conversion or Dhimmitude you enjoy most?

Or is your praise more towards the fact that Islam was founded by a common thief, a child raping pedophile and a terrorist?

Well, I guess you feel just fine that your taxes pay for Christian symbols. Now, your tax dollars will pay even more for it thanks to this eminent domain scheme.

Look son, you’re out of your league here. Then again, your post couldn’t be improved one iota by Umnumzana, so it must be gold!

    Let’s break this down point-by-point:

    ____________________________________

”Well, I guess you feel just fine that your taxes pay for Christian symbols.”

I’ve got news for you. I don’t like A LOT of things my tax dollars are paying for these days. It is pretty much out of my control and there is little I can do about it besides voting for the people on Election Day who I think will spend my tax dollars as wisely as possible.

In fact, I think it’s ridiculous that our US tax dollars are being spent to fight the ACLU on our government’s behalf in our judicial system because they can’t win at the ballot box and can only make their radical changes through the courts and activist judges.

    ____________________________________

“You bring up some b.s. about crosses on Alrington [sic] cemetary [sic] ….the govenment [sic] doesn’t put them there. It’s up to the families, as it should be. It’s irrelevant to bring it up, and actually a right-wing myth that the ACLU wants to remove them.”

Learn to read. I never said that the ACLU wants to remove the crosses at Arlington National Cemetery. My only mention of Arlington National was when I asked YOU if that’s what you wanted to do next, remove the crosses.

However, I have no doubt in my mind that the ACLU would indeed have all of these crosses removed if it was up to them. The problem with that is that they would lose that court battle BIG TIME and would have zero chances of winning the case because the American people would be overwhelmingly against that notion.

Secondly, the government doesn’t always decorate and place Nativity displays on courthouse property during the holiday season, but that doesn’t stop the ACLU from filing lawsuits to remove them from public view.

Thirdly, the crosses and other religious symbols sitting atop the graves of our fallen heroes are NOT the only religious symbols or references on that property.

There are religious monuments, scripture references, statues, and memorials all over the place throughout Arlington National Cemetery.

The government put them there. The families didn’t.

Let’s just start removing all of those symbols of faith and leave the crosses since the families didn’t put them there.

    ____________________________________

“Also, how am I imposing athiesm [sic] on anyone? DO you see me asking for a giant 50 foot sign saying “There is no God!”? If not having a refeence [sic] to God makes something atheist [sic], then I guess the Washington Monument qualifies for that (that’s 3 points, score it).”

You are imposing your own beliefs on others by removing a symbol of Christianity that has been there for 50 years because you are offended by it. You are outnumbered by a wide margin because the vast majority of that community doesn’t believe it should be removed.

Once again, you should read more closely. I never said that no reference to “God” makes anything Atheist. The cross itself is a reference to a “higher power” and you are imposing your own lack of beliefs onto others by advocating its removal from public view.

Your point about the Washington Monument makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

    ____________________________________
“Look son, you’re out of your league here. Then again, your post couldn’t be improved one iota by Umnumzana, so it must be gold!”

LOL. I find it extremely laughable that YOU of all people would call anyone “son”. I would bet that I graduated from college (Purdue University) several years before you graduated high school.

On the other hand, you are absolutely right.

I am completely “out of my league” when trying to debate you because I cannot compete with someone who is so immature that he has to self-congratulate himself on every little remark, regardless whether it makes any sense or has any relevancy to the topic at hand or not.

I also cannot compete with someone who is so insecure that the mere sight of a religious symbol of public view is enough to make him feel like a “second-class citizen” (your words) and drives him into a crazed frenzy to the point where he has to lock himself in his bedroom closet and make childish remarks about people who have a set of beliefs that differ from his own.

Sorry, but it is not their fault that you are so insecure that you can’t possibly have a logical debate with anyone pertaining to religion or issues of faith.

    Get a life.

    HOW TO DEBATE, BY HARMONICA:

    1. avoid confronting the issues. it’s too hard.

    2. criticize the easiest of points, i.e. taking issue with “coping and pasting.”

    3. baselessly assume the opponent gets its “talking points” from Left websites, to discredit the comments, instead of engaging with them.

    4. name-calling is a real good tactic; “troll” or “idiot” will do, demonizing the opponent intead of geniunely listening to them.

it’s important that any criticism of Bush be denounced and the messenger be rhetorically killed. everyone we disagree with is a terrorist.

go ahead. make that claim and back it up with some concrete proof. post #18 can be backed up, every single claim, with concrete evidence. all i ever asked was for someone to dispute #18, something both you and side-stepping Harmonica keep avoiding.

fyi. i didn’t vote for Bill Clinton. if it were up to me, i wouldn’t of impeached him for some bullshit perjury charge… i would’ve gone after him for war crimes.

of course, implying that we shouldn’t criticize our standing president because he isn’t up for re-election is beyond silly. if that’s the case, WHY did the Republicans impeach Clinton if he was on the way out anyway?

impeach Bush. save the Republican party, listen & learn from Buckley, Fukuyama and John Dean. be a Goldwater conservative.
