US Ambassador to the UN John Bolton appeared on Hannity & Colmes to discuss the current Mideast Crisis and how the UN will react. It’s a good interview.

Bolton looks like a cross between Willford Brimley and Captain Kangaroo, and he’s ready to kick ass against the bloated Communist bureaucracy at the UN.
He’s about the only one fighting to make the UN stand for freedom and peace (like it’s charter says)—instead of clearing the path for Russia and China to buy oil and sell weapons with their Islamic Terrorist buddies.

Take no prisoners, Grumpy Old Man!

I agree with you guys whole-heartedly because John Bolton absolutely rocks. He’s done a lot of very good things at the UN that we rarely hear about.

Just think, this is the guy that the Democrats did everything they could to filibuster his appointment as UN Ambassador by President Bush last year and refused to give him a straight ‘up or down’ vote because they felt he had a reputation as a “bully.”

It took an Executive Order by Bush while Congress was on vacation last year to bypass the Democrats blocking his confirmation and Bolton will be reviewed in six months with an actual vote this time.

Anyone wanna bet against Bolton being overwhelmingly confirmed in six months?

I guess Bush was right and I can’t think of a better guy in that position.

Good point. Putin lectured Israel today about “the unprecedented scale of the casualties and destruction” in it’s attacks on Hezbollah. Putin’s got big balls to say that after the blunt force approach he takes in Chechnya, which has mowed down thousands of civilians.

A cease-fire and UN peacekeepers will only allow Hezbollah to re-arm and dig-in deeper for their next attacks. The UN showed it’s “neutrality” in the Palestinian areas when it’s vehicles were used by Hamas to move weapons and terrorists.
We need to allow Israel to destroy Hezbollah in Lebanon, because unfortunately the Lebanese Army won’t ever do it.

I remember in the 60’s spending a summer vacation there and going to a swap meet in Birmingham. My aunt and I went to find a drinking fountain. I couldn’t believe that there were two. One that said colored only and one that said white only. The bathrooms were the same as were all entrances to public buildings. As a child growing up in Calif I couldn’t believe it. I thought it was terrible. I saw the environment that Dr. Rice grew up in. But she achieved so much and I don’t see any racism in her or bitterness.

    Nice try.

Here are the first two paragraphs, verbatim, of that very article you provided as your proof of bipartisan support against Bolton’s confirmation vote in the Senate:

    ____________________________________

Bolton vote delayed by GOP senator

    By Barbara Slavin, USA TODAY

WASHINGTON — Surprise last-minute opposition from a Republican senator stalled a Senate committee vote on the nomination of John Bolton as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations until next month while the panel considers new allegations of improper behavior by Bolton.

Ohio Republican Sen. George Voinovich startled his fellow Republicans by declaring toward the end of a testy, two-hour meeting of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that “I don’t feel comfortable voting today on Mr. John Bolton, and maybe it would be in the best interest of the committee to take a little more time.” The committee agreed unanimously to postpone the vote.”

    ____________________________________

You call a Republican senator who wanted to take more time and wanted to delay his confirmation vote as “bipartisan”?

ONE Republican is proof ofBIPARTISAN SUPPORT?

    Give me a break.

Perhaps then you will appreciate Senator George Voinovich’s new editorial entitled, “Why I’ll Vote for Bolton,” and printed in yesterday’s Washington Post.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/07/19/AR2006071901788.html

Bolton’s confirmation vote by the Senate in 2007 will indeed be bipartisan because he will be confirmed overwhelmingly based on the job he’s done at the UN during the past year.
