Of course, a classy, patriotic, dignified and well-spoken intelligent mother of a fallen serviceman holds no interest to the MSM.
Meanwhile, demagogue, exploitative, sleazy, psychotic, Shake-sippin’ Sheehan gets wall to wall coverage.
Who’d a thunk it?

I would say that Cindy Sheehan could learn a lot from this woman, but she’s so far gone that she can no longer be helped by anyone.
I would imagine that it is a courtesy to all families who have lost loved ones in battle, but I find it especially respectful that the WH called the family and asked her permission to mention her son’s name before they actually did so in that press conference last week.
A rather minor gesture of courtesy and respect can go a long way and I’m sure the family appreciated the sentiment and recognition of her hero son during such a difficult time.

Maybe they’ll name an oil tanker after him.

Your cynicism is noted. Oh yeah, shame on you. At least this mother has more dignity than you or Cindy Sheehan may never realize in your lifetime.

I have total respect for Mrs Cummings beliefs.
I also have total respect for parents that have lost loved one and are against the war. They do exist, they just don’t promote their views as publicly as Cindy Sheehan.

For those interested on what Materazzi said to Zidane….The BBC have broadcast two different versions.
1.BBC Radio Five Live asked for help from a deaf lip reader, Jessica Rees, who read the words phonetically to an Italian translator.
She deciphered the insult as being “you’re the son of a terrorist whore” – a translation also carried by many national newspapers in Britain on Tuesday.
2.The BBC’s Ten O’Clock News also called in experts to study the television footage of the incident and determined the following:
Materazzi’s first word to Zidane was “no” before he then told him to “calm down”.
He then accused him of being a “liar” and wished “an ugly death to you and your family” on the day the Frenchman’s mother had been taken to hospital ill. This was followed by “Go f*** yourself”.

I offer my condolences and respect to the Cummings family.
I found this quote relevant.
To prove that patriotism is a necessity we must go back to fundamentals.
The simplest form of moral behavior occurs when a man or other animal fights for his own survival.
The next higher level is to work, fight, and sometimes die for your own immediate family.
The next higher level is to work, fight, and sometimes die for a group larger that the unit family—an extended family, a herd, a tribe
The next level in moral behavior higher than that exhibited by the baboon is that in which duty and loyalty are shown toward a group of your kind too large for an individual to know all of them. We have a name for that. It is called “patriotism.”
Excerpts from Robert A. Heinlein, April 5, 1973, lecture at the Naval Academy.

Patriotism is an expression of national loyalty. Libs are only loyal to themselves and profess it proudly by making condescending comments about patriotism or patriotic acts. They don’t understand the military or any type of group effort for survival or defense. Their progressive intelligentsia puts them above everyone. They’re confused and afraid of being exposed so they pretend to be lofty and above all. It’s too corny to be patriotic.

The REAL freedom, as we learned from Michael Moore, was under Saddam. In the bottom of that plastic shredder.
And any day you lefties want to supply evidence of these asinine assertions against Halliburton, it would be greatly appreciated. Until then, these are nothing more than brainwashed canards and fumes emminating from MorOn.org and similar sewers.
Didn’t Clinton give no bid contracts to Halliburton during his tenure? Damn facts.

Yup, died for Halliburton, and Clinton sent all our soldiers over to Kosovo for a chance to die for Halliburton too. Huh.
I must admit Im having trouble keeping track of all the reasons our men and women are fighting; yesterday it was oil, today its Halliburton, tomorrow it will be Christian hegemony over the middle east.
At least I can rely on the liberal pinheads to keep me up to date.

Here’s some unfortunate history for the Moonbats inhaling the Halliburton pain thinner – from the NYTimes (you’ll have to pay to read the whole 2003 article, though – TimesSelect). Here’ a recap from Neal Boortz:
“Halliburton was awarded [a] services contract under the Clinton administration. In the 1990s the Army wanted to get outside help handling the logistics associated with actions overseas. That’s when the Army came up with LOGCAP, the U.S. Army Logistics Civil Augmentation Program. Halliburton first won the competitive bid for LOGCAP in 1992. It lost the contract in 1997. Who was president in 1997? Someone named Bill Clinton. Halliburton was out, but Clinton needed help with his logistics efforts in Bosnia. Who did he turn to? Halliburton? He gave another contract to Halliburton with NO COMPETITIVE BIDDING. Halliburton then won the competitive bidding process again in 2001. So .. which party seems to favor Halliburton? In 1992 and in 2001, under Republican presidents, Halliburton wins competitive bids for LOGCAP. In 1997, under a Democratic president, Halliburton gets the contract without a bid.”
I know it stings, libs, but you’re up to bat and hitting .000 so far this season. Wanna go for -1.00?

Do you even know what hailliburton does? Seriously and don’t say war profiting. Is it oil? No that isn’t there company goal either. Odds are you have no idea what Haillburton does or what other companies are out there that can do it.
So what do they do? Like if i asked the following i would expect these answers.
Nike-shoes
Coca Cola-drinks
Frito-lay- food
Levi’s-jeans
Now that you have to figure out what halliburton does, can you name another company that has the resources and ability to do what they do. Give you a hint there is only 1 more company on the planet that can do what they do. It starts with an S. Figure it out d-bag.

Yeah giving the Iraqi’s freedom.. well they now want to take away our soldiers “immunity” meaning they could try our soldiers in Iraqi courts. And yet they want to give immunity to Iraqi’s that have killed or attacked our soldiers. I say lets GTFO and give them saddam back. Sounds like they are about to tell us to get the hell out anyways.

That’s right, dick. You keep quoting John Dean and reading his material. He’s a genuine natural born leader. More like a fruitcake.
You have no leadership or authoritarian figures in your life (libs life). You’re probably a rebellious little snot who was never disciplined. I’m not talking about spanking or beating but just being taught right from wrong. So you were given all the leeway to “let Johnny do his thing and don’t hold him back”.
Maybe your idea of authoritarian figure is Michael Moore, BJ Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry. Moore is an authority on twisting the story; BJ is an authority on sexual relations and power abuse; Al Gore is an authority on global warming; John Kerry is an authority on nothing. Oh yeah, John Dean….....he’s an authority on…....let’s see now…..... yep, you libs got some real good authority representation.

(see: Moonbat, Crazy woman, Sheehan, moral authority)

Absolute moral authority.
All those leftwing chickendoves who aren’t serving actually think they have a right to comment about this lady when they haven’t fought for the right to disagree with her?
For shame!
1:28 pm [ Quote ]
While you on the left have every right to attack Bush, Cheney, Halliburton; or praise Saddam or Castro; it is unconscionable that you would not honor this fine lady and her hero son, who died during a third tour in Iraq he volunteered to serve, so you could enjoy the Free Speech rights to attack our government safely here at home.
No one that attacks or demeans a hero of our country and his exceptionally gracious mother deserves the liberty and prosperity of this land!

Pathetic…so you gave her the title of anti-sheehan? Thats sad. So a woman who lost her son comes out in support of the war and u treat her like a saint? The other is trash. Yeah I think that is how you apply your logic to this war. For good against bad. Now Im not about to blog about why that makes no sense but Im sure you smart MULTI Dimensional beings can read between the lines

It was interesting to see the contrasts between this mother and the other mother. But sorry to say people like Dallas, The Leak, DB, and all the others see only value in trashing those who serve and herald those who don’t or those who are “fasting”.
It’s interesting how the left speaks of Chickenhawks on the Right but when Clinton was in office we were told it didn’t matter that he didn’t serve or that as a young man he said he “loathed the military”. That’s fine, just keep your stories straight. I guess since I was still in uniform at the time I can tell you that there were a number of people who weren’t happy when he came to various military bases. I also have a good friend who got in trouble because when he visited the carrier he was attached to via the air wing, he suddenly got stomach cramps and had to go to sick bay. Problem was there were a large number of people there with various problems as the Commander in Chief was about to arrive. As an Officer he had to go back up to the deck and wait for the President. I wish that the MSM would speak to other parents who support the war who lost their children. However, they don’t fit in with their “Hate Bush and destroy the military at any cost” agenda.

This is a perfect example of the kind of thinking practiced by people on sites like this.
Somewhere along the line, these people have identified themselves as “conservative” or “right-wing” and they base all their thinking and arguments on that identification.
Anytime they argue their position, they knee-jerk and think “this is the right-wing point of view so it is correct” and “this is the left-wing point of view so it’s wrong”.
The issue above had nothing to do with left versus right wing, it had to do with Halliburton war profiteering. Nevertheless the user’s knee-jerk argument was “Clinton did it too!”
PS this way of thinking has been invented and propagated by caricature pundits like Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter with funding and support of people who have an interest in the spreading of the extreme point of view they preach. (Rush Limbaugh has been tied to the Council on Foreign Relations) Unfortunately it is not based on rational thinking and is often not even based in reality.
Congratulations, you’ve been brainwashed.
