Ann Coulter appeared on FOX News’ Hannity & Colmes Wednesday night to discuss the WMD found in Iraq and a comment she made about John Murtha. Coulter was opposite of liberal Laura Schwartz, who downplayed the WMD and made it sound like it wasn’t what we were looking for. One question; why aren’t liberals happy like all conservatives that we found WMD? Don’t question their patriotism, though.
Alan Colmes quoted Coulter from an interview she did with John Hawkins from Right Wing News:
Liberal Schwartz agreed with John Kerry’s characterization that our troops are terrorists. Co-host Alan Colmes jumped in saying Coulter “attacks widows.” Instead of a positive comment about our troops, he bashes Ann.

Well, big whoop. Wow, call out the firing squad. That whole impeachment proceeding for that lie was, as you would say, a desperate attempt for an impotent Republican party to try to regain some power, that’s all. And, you know what, under oath or not, a lie is a lie. And, Bush tells a lie practically everytime he opens his sorry mouth. It started with that whole “compassionate conservative” and “uniter not a divider” garbage and has escalated from there, up to and including the myriad of changing reasons for the Iraq occupation. At this point, I find it hard to believe anything this administration has to say.
As for Kerry, you can say someone terrorizes another person without actually implying the are a “terrorist” in the sens of the word that we define terrorists today (Al Qaida). Would you say that no Iraqi civilians have been menaced at all? Would you say that they have been allowed to go about their business and live their lives as they always have? Kerry’s a big goon, I know, and he has said a lot of stupid things, but I don’t think he blames the troops for any of this debacle. And, also, Kerry may have said what he said, but you would be hard pressed to find such a quote from Rep. Murtha.
I do not see the Republicans going out of their way to publicize any negativity or untruths to keep seats.
I am still waiting for the next “Orange Alert” or carefully timed Osama Bin Laden video to surface. Should happen ‘round about late September, early October.

1. Clinton lied under oath. He thus committed the crime of perjury that is punishable by imprisonment. He was suspended for five years from the Bar of the State of Arkansas and reciprocally so disciplined by the U. S. Supreme Court. After the news broke, the U.S. Supreme Court boycotted Clinton’s next State of the Union address in disapproval. So, yes, it was a big deal.
2. You are defending the indefensible in defending Kerry’s statement that U.S. troops are terrorizing Iraqis. That is false. What Kerry is saying is a revolting slur on our well trained troops, who have been performing magnificently. Where American soldiers and marines stand, there freedom can live. All that Kerry is doing is trying to treat Iraq as if it were Vietnam (from a leftist perspective), which Iraq is not (Vietnam was not either).
For what it is worth, the contacts that I have with the troops in Iraq tell me that the Iraqis want us there right now to provide security, and the present democratically elected Iraqi government, operating under a democraticaly adopted Constitution, also want us there now.
3. Since you have missed the forest for the trees with respect to Iraq, let me remind you about what we have undeniably accomplished in Iraq. We have removed from power a murderous dictator in Saddam, who used WMDs on his own people, who used real physically mutilating torture against his own people and had killed hundread of thousands of Iraqis, who ran that country into the ground economically, who invaded a neighbor country to make it part of a greater Iraq, who violated 17 UN resolutions concerning arms and who was starting to establish ties with al-Qaeda when the invasion removed him. We propelled the Iraqi people to adopt a democratic constitutional government; the “purple finger” held aloft reflects the bravery of the Iraqi people to vote despite the terorist threats and represents the alternative to Islamic fascist radicalism for the Middel East.

Those are John Kerry’s words. He never said that the US troops were terrorists. Now, you tell me, that you know for a fact that absloutely NO women or children have been menaced or permanently damaged by actions that US troops have taken in Iraq. And, this in no way is intended to disrespect the troops. I believe that our troops are trained specifically to do a job, and to follow orders, and that is EXACTLY what they are doing. And I commend them for their discipline and dedication to their task. John Kerry and John Murtha both served this country honorably, and were recognized for their bravery and service, and you guys absolutely HATE that, as if patriotism is a trait on which conservatives have cornered the market. If anyone is dishonoring our servicemen, it’s the conservatives who continue to question Kerry and Murtha, and it’s also the current administration, particularly Donald Rumsfeld, who repeatedly have thrown them right under the bus and let them take the fall for obeying orders. And, it’s also anyone who supports Prime Minister Al-Maliki’s wish to grant amnesty to insurgents who have killed US troops.
3. Here’s what we’ve done: We have invaded a sovereign nation that NEVER once attacked us, that tried to invade Kuwait in the ‘90’s and has been pretty lame ever since (so lame in fact, when we finally did find him, he was hiding in a hole, not some well-stocked underground bunker, as one might have imagined), that posed no threat to the US, and have turned it into a civil war zone that is far from being democratic constitutional government. We have left our borders completely unsecured. We have yet to find any viable, concrete evidence that Saddam Hussein had an active WMD program or any ties to Al-Qaeda. The Iraqi citizens had every right to proudly display their ink-stained fingers after that first symbolic election. When the Republican members of the US Congress did it, it was nothing more than grotesque grandstanding and self-promotion. This administration has continually and shamelessly flogged 9/11 for their own gain and to promote their distorted agenda. NONE of the 9/11 hijackers was Iraqi. The majority of them were Saudi nationals.
We agree on one thing only: God (if He or She exists) bless America and the American Military. We’re certainly going to need it if things keep going the way they have been.
