Expose the Left
June 20, 2006

Hat Tip Conservative Intelligence Report, who writes:

Howard Dean goes more bezerk than Murtha. Saying republicans aren’t smart enough to protect America! My favorite is now he is ranting about North Korea, “the president has done nothing.” It was the left that laughed at the President when he constructed his Axis of Evil. Could someone remind me of the countries included? Maybe someone needs to play the footage of Albright cutting deals with NK under Clinton for Dean.

Dean is complains about Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld not serving abroad. (Key word: abroad)

BLITZER: Here’s what Karl Rove said last week in Manchester, New Hampshire. He said, “Like too many Democrats, it strikes me they are ready to give the green light to go to war. But when it gets tough, they fall back on that old party’s platform of cutting and running. They may be with you for the first few bullets, but they won’t be there for the last tough battles.” Karl Rove in New Hampshire last week.

DEAN: I thought Jack Murtha, who’s a 37-year-old decorated Marine, had the best retort. Karl Rove is sitting in his air conditioned office on his big fat you-know-what, and he’s never served. George Bush has never served abroad. Dick Cheney’s never served abroad. Don Rumsfeld’s never served abroad.

This comes from the same man who got a draft deferment and, according to Time magazine, “skiing and bumming around…He hit the slopes, tried pot, washed dishes, poured concrete and drank impressive amounts of beer.” Oh yes, and this comes from someone who hasn’t served abroad himself.

BLITZER: How worried are that Karl Rove, now that he won’t be indicted, charged with any crimes in connection with the leaking of the name of Scooter Libby—Scooter—excuse me, the leaking of the name of Valerie Plame—only Scooter Libby, the president’s former chief of staff, has been indicted in connection with that—how worried are you that Karl Rove will now be able to focus all of his attention on getting Republicans elected in November?

DEAN: Look, the president—Karl Rove keep—keeps repeating the same old tired stuff: Democrats are weak. Democrats are disorganized. Sometimes, he gets columnists to believe it.

This comes from a ‘man’ who says the same things about Republicans over and over and over again.

I could go on and on about the foolish things that have come out of Dean’s mouth, but I don’t think it’s necessary to repeat them.

That’s what always amazes me about the left. The fact that Clinton said he “loathed” the military, didn’t serve, Dean didn’t serve but let us not forget that it’s not important when a dem doesn’t serve but it is important if someone in the Republican party served in the National Guard. But this is from someone who was told by some genius by the name of Kevin that my service doesn’t mean a thing and why should vets be the only ones who can speak about military affairs. Yeah, sure Kev. The only people that matter anywhere on any policy are the moonbats on the left regardless if they served, use toliet paper or soap.

It will almost be a shame when Howard Dean gets the boot next year from his DNC Chairman position due to his ongoing knack of putting his foot in his mouth almost daily in addition to his fundraising totals being absolutely atrocious.

Who would’ve thought that Terry McAuliffe would be the SANE and more moderate DNC Chairman?

I didn’t care for McAuliffe one bit, but at least he had the guts to frequently debate his counterpart (RNC Chairman Ed Gillespie) almost weekly on the news talk shows of all the networks.

By contrast, Dean absolutely REFUSES to participate in such one-on-one debates with the current RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman and has never accepted that challenge once.

It’s funny how Dean is such a big Liberal hero now, but he gets pissed off if anyone challenges his completely maniacal allegations towards whomever he sees as his enemy.

Dean and his brother are trying to get one of their own (Senator Joe Lieberman -Democrat) thrown overboard without a life raft because of his stance on the war and his lack of viciousness when debating policy with the Republicans and the Bush Administration.

Just think, Dean was THISCLOSE to being the Presidential nominee for the Democratic Party in 2004. Wow.

Go ahead and keep using the “Bush was AWOL” and all of that other crap, Howie.

That campaign strategy worked very well for the Dems in 2004, didn’t it?

I’m not even a fan of Ann Coulter, but she is exactly right when she talks about the Dems using people like Murtha, Sheehan, and the Jersey Girls as “shields” to bludgeon Bush and the Republicans.

If Dean and the Dems want to keep going that route, then go ahead. They did the same thing with John Kerry’s service against Bush’s service in the National Guard and we saw how well that turned out for the Dems in 2004.

So what if Murtha spent time in the Marines? Does that mean he is right about everything pertaining to the war or the Iraq policy?

    I doubt it.

If the Dems want to play “tit for tat” when it comes to the military service of politicians to determine foreign policy, there are few people with the “moral authority” on war than John McCain, yet he is one of the most hawkish politicians in Congress on the military strategy in Iraq.

Is that the game the Dems want to play?

Do the Dems realize that the vast majority of military personnel are consistently even MORE HAWKISH on Iraq than the politicians who create the policy?

Go ahead and just let the military handle all decisions made on Iraq. Better yet, let the really big guns like the Special Forces and their Commanders dictate our policy in Iraq.

What do you think would happen?

They wouldn’t screw around with all of the bureaucracy and they wouldn’t pussy-foot around with the terrorists who want to kill us. They’d be hunting these thugs everyday and they would shoot them in their beds while they slept.

If the policy on Iraq was squarely made by former military, the boots on the ground, and their Commanders, is there any doubt that they wouldn’t hold back at all instead of being forced to be more passive because of the politicians in Washington, DC?

It will never happen, but this shows how moronic the Dems sound when they try playing Poker with the military services of people who disagree with the Administration.

I guess two politicians with military service MUST know the best for this country over other politicians who didn’t serve “abroad.”

If that’s the way they want to play that game then Bush could trot out three Republicans with decorated service (such as Bob Dole and Bush 41 and John McCain) who agree with their policy to trump Kerry and Murtha.

That would be an ongoing “tit for tat” which doesn’t make any sense for the Dems at all because the Republicans would win that game eventually because the military has STRONGLY supported Republicans over the Dems for more than three decades.

It’s a moronic argument any way you look at it.

I would like to see Murtha appear on just ONE network that would challenge his views on Iraq. Of course, he doesn’t want to appear on any show that might make him think a little bit and stem away from his talking points.

Think Dean was comparing Jack Murtha and his service record to the lack of service of Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld.

I think your facts are a little off there CracksmokerUK.

Secretary Rumsfeld served active duty in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1957. From 1958 through 1975, he served in the Naval Reserves. He left the naval service holding the rank of Captain. (www.defenselink.mil/bios/rumsfeld.html)

President Bush (rank Lieutenant) served six-years in the Air National Guard as a fighter/interceptor pilot.

You are correct that Vice President Cheney did not serve in the military. He had a deferment from service.

“Dean absolutely REFUSES to participate in such one-on-one debates.” – Remember when the two were set to debate on Fox News Sunday or MTP, then the morning of the show he demanded they each do different interviews. Now no one can say that with both at the same location, same green room, and Dean makes that choice… he is most certainly a debate “cut ‘n runner.”

“Think Dean was comparing Jack Murtha and his service record to the lack of service of Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld.” – Happy, by that argument no one who is a war vet can have an opinion. The percentage of war vets in relation to this countries population is so small, he is saying the American public (in large) cannot have a voice. At least one can make the point Murtha actually has a point when such garbage is said. But think about it… A non-war vet, saying non-war vets should not criticize others. Logic please?

“the last time I check Dean wasn’t the President or part of the decision making of this administration which has killed 2500 of our own.” – Billw, I know you want to make it seem as though the President shot each one himself. But it was terrorists that killed them. I don’t say Clinton KILLED the men in Somalia. I criticize him for his response to that atrocity. But Bush didn’t “kill” the 2500, give me a break.

You are a typical liberal; you have trouble identifying the enemy. It was IslamoFascist terrorist that killed over 2500 U.S. troops, over 300 innocent people on 9/11 and hundreds more around the world through acts of barbarous, murderous terrorism. It is the Bush administration and our wonderful military that has been defending America lives, Iraqi and Afghanistan lives, at the risk of their own lives and limbs.

    Cheney never served abroad?

Cheney served as the Secretary of Defense from March 1989 to January 1993 under President George H. W. Bush. He directed Operation Desert Storm in the Middle East. Visiting troops Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, he became the first secretary of state in history to visit an active war zone (where scud missiles continuously flew overhead). Certainly, he served his country abroad more so than Dean and arguably more than Murtha.
