BREITBART.COM – Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is shown wearing American tennis shoes and unable to operate his automatic rifle in video released Thursday by the U.S. military as part of a propaganda war aimed at undercutting the image of the terror leader.

The U.S. command showed the footage to reporters at a time when it is stepping up operations against al-Qaida in Iraq and making overtures to other Sunni groups. The Americans hope to isolate religious extremists from insurgents they believe are more likely to cut a deal to end the war.

The clips were part of a longer video that U.S. troops seized in a raid last month. Al-Qaida in Iraq militants posted an edited version of the same video on the Internet April 25 _ but without the embarrassing segments.

I can’t stand the treasonous press undermining the military mission, always handing their megaphone to the enemy’s cause, and making excuses for the enemy, even while point out twice that we are in a war of ideas and images.

Who is this CNN reporter, making inaccurate excuses for Zarqawi? The SAW is NOT heavy, neither is the trigger.

It is a light machine gun. It has always been described in formal military literate as a light machine gun. It is not difficult to operate.

You mean to tell me that THIS is the ringleader terrorist thug causing all of these problems in Iraq?

Wow, so much for a SCARY freaking terrorist.

How could this guy have possibly evaded our troops for so long?

This video reminds me of Tim Allen when he was on “Home Improvement” and trying to demo a brand new powerful tool on his cable show ‘Tool Time’ before nearly blowing up the studio and the studio audience with it.

The other guy helping and pulling the slide back on al-Zarqawi’s AK-47 was the beard-wearing and jolly ‘Tool Time’ assistant, Al.

    This is great video.

BUT… your headline is hilarious… please don’t follow the mainstream media!

Usually the press calls anything and everything a machine gun even though it’s really what military folks call an “automatic rifle”.

This time he’s actually got a machine gun (light machine gun… please don’t start calling it a “heavy” machine gun like CNN was doing the other day… heavy machine guns are mounted on tripods or vehicle mounts) and your headline calls it a “rifle” and then an “automatic rifle” in the first paragraph.

    Ugh.

Anyway, his weopan handling was attrocious. Not only could he not clear a stoppage (and I promise you that stoppages are to be anticipated with and are part of the normal operation of that gun) he immediately swung around clearing an arc pointing at his fellow fighters.

And why his “buddy” thought it was smart to grab the hot barrel of the gun, so hot that gunners carry spare barrels to change on the fly, I don’t know.

    P*ss poor soldiership.

You couldn’t get away with that in the WW2 Italian army.

(Incidentally, all my above comments were based on watching a much shorter FOX clip, I’m still waiting for the CNN video to download.)

And no offence to Italy! To the best of my knowledge their training has approved immensely and their military is far more motivated as volunteer service members in a free nation’s military than they were as conscripts in another country’s demented Corporal-Fuhrer’s grandiose ambitions.

Back to al-Zarqawi. What a tool… well, it’s not like he knows how to use tools, he just is a tool.

I think we are all aware of how many heads he has cut off, and how many people have died at his direction. It casts a different light on the guy that many people think is the boogey man. Its like the Japanese in WWII, where our soldiers thought the Japanese were invincible, until we actually engaged them in combat, and realized they could be defeated. No one thought any less of their murderous exploits, it just painted them in a different light.

Zarqawi is pure evil, but watching him stumble with a SAW is quite revealing.

Do you REALLY think Zarqawi needs any more reasons to behead people or bomb mosques?

Your attitude of “appeasement” is exactly why world-wide terrorism became such a problem through the 1990s and led to 9/11 in the first place.

You make it sound as if Zarqawi was such a great guy before this video and would never harm anyone unless he was provoked.

    C’mon, get real.

Liberal Smasher, I simply can’t concur that al-Zarqawi is a coward.

I for one am not leading a military insurgency against the largest military power in the world.

I think he’s unearthed himself as a machine-gun handling novice and that some of his close associates didn’t have much training in how to handle machine guns either. This is valuable intelligence.

That he runs and hides when pursued is common sense and good stategy. He’s proven that his previous propaganda video with himself as the great warrior is laughable.

I agree that he’s a hideous murderer, probably a psychopath who uses this conflict to advance his cruel appetites. Taking a further step though and concluding he is a coward appears to be underestimating your enemy: a classic mistake.

Adolph Hitler was a physically brave man. He earned the Iron Cross 1st class for his military service in WW1 as an enlisted man. This was rare.

That doesn’t change the fact that he was a satanic mass murderer hellbent on world domination and killing all Jews. He was the enemy and deserved to be denounced in all his “niece defecating on him” shame.

And no, Marko, standup comics, political cartoon writers, and the general public who made fun of Adolph Hitler weren’t responsible for his murders: He was. Likewise, no one here is responsible for al-Zarqawi’s murders because we point out he doen’t know how to properly use a light machine gun. And that he’s an @$$h0le.

    Al-Zarqawi Video Is A Pentagon Propaganda Psy-Op

“The U.S. military is conducting a propaganda campaign to magnify the role of the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq, according to internal military documents and officers familiar with the program. The effort has raised his profile in a way that some military intelligence officials believe may have overstated his importance and helped the Bush administration tie the war to the organization responsible for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.”

The Post even described how the Pentagon had concocted fake Al-Zarqawi letters boasting about suicide attacks and leaked them to Dexter Filkins of the New York Times, who splashed it on the front page the next day. Despite the fact that Filkins had severe doubts about the authenticity of the letter, the Times got down on their knees, licked boots, and published it anyway.

    Four things:

1.) The man who claims he’s an expert with the gun can’t get it to work properly (and even fires off single-shots. Anything with a full-auto feature was /probably/ designed to use it).

2.) Mr. “Death to America” himself, wearing American-made sneakers. Nice.

3.) To whatever idiot said “he cut a dude’s head off with a fishing knife, he’s no pussy!” : dude, anybody could do that TO A HOSTAGE. Now, had this been a one-on-one fight between him and, say, an Army Ranger and he still won, then yeah I might give him credit. But to do that to a captive? No. Not macho at all, or intimidating.

4.) This shows that any monkey with even a marginal amount of charisma can be a “terrorist mastermind”. Also, why do we apply the word “mastermind” to groups of people who routinely blow THEMSELVES up? Or at the very least, their own men? We live in an age where you can detonate bombs with cell phones from a safe distance, and the bombs are getting smaller and smaller without losing any of their killing power. So, these people get the label “mastermind” for the suicide attacks WHY?!

Just because the man can’t fire a gun doesn’t make him an idiot, it makes him incompetent at using guns. Bill Gates probably can’t fire a gun either, but that doesn’t make him an idiot.

Zarqawi is the kind of guy who is good a running and hiding, he lets his idiot minions do the shooting and getting killed.

That’s exactly what it comes down too. Zarqawi is going to run out of people to throw out the back of the truck to slow us down. They’ll get him soon, and just as it always is .. itll be a good day for the United States, and a bad day for democrats. (funny how that works)

What the HELL kind of logic is that?

The last time I checked, Bill Gates wasn’t in the Islamic terrorist business and planning daily attacks on US troops and innocent Iraqis.

The equivalence would be Bill Gates not knowing how to turn on a computer or not knowing how to use Windows XP on his laptop.

Zarqawi is supposed to be a freaking SOLDIER. Since when do soldiers not know how to fire guns?

Doesn’t “Camp Al-Qaeda” and Osama teach their pupil terrorists how to actually fire guns, or do they just use spitballs as their weapon of choice? (Zell Miller, anyone?)

Yeah, he’s already screwed me over with all the exploits in Windows. The point is one’s incompetence in one area does not show incompetence in any others.

“The equivalence would be Bill Gates not knowing how to turn on a computer or not knowing how to use Windows XP on his laptop.”

Not neccesarily. Zarqawi is the plan guy, not the rifle guy. Should he know how to fire a gun? Yes. Does he? Apparently not. Does it make his plans any less deadly or his hiding any less effective? No.

“Zarqawi is supposed to be a freaking SOLDIER. Since when do soldiers not know how to fire guns?”

Zarqawi is to Al-Queda what an Architect is to a construction site. Zarqawi does the planning, and yeah, it’d be nice if he could lift some girders, but he leaves most of the groundwork to the grunts.

“Doesn’t “Camp Al-Qaeda” and Osama teach their pupil terrorists how to actually fire guns, or do they just use spitballs as their weapon of choice? (Zell Miller, anyone?)”

Perhaps Zarqawi’s education in schematic creation, contingency plans, and logistics was more important than munitions handling 101.

Jamie McIntyre, as the Zarqawi apologist, sounds like an embedded reporter for Al Qaeda in the video link. Outrageous. But CNN isn’t biased at all, someone has to look out for these misunderstood terrorists.

In the title I pointed out that Zapoweinie is Bin Laden’s boyfriend. Clearly making fun of Muslim terrorist who kill our American troops is forbidden.

That’s a big what the fuck folks!

Yeah, here’s an example of this man’s brilliant planning exercises:

1.) Give explosive vest to Ahmed.
2.) Tell Ahmed to walk into market.
3.) Tell Ahmed to then explode.

Act now and you too can receive the same brilliant strategic training Zarqawi received for just 3 easy payments of $19.95. We’ll even throw in a free explosive vest!

(Disclaimer: not liable for any personal injuries and/or fatalities resulting from improper use of vest, or the AK-47 you’ll no doubt pose with in front of a camera.)

Again: These people are NOT as brilliant as most want to give them credit for. The “strategy” consists of “blow up anything on two legs that walks upright, including our own men”

    Jeff, a few things:

1.) That’s a fake gun. As in, not real. As in, CANNOT HURT ANYONE UNLESS USED AS A CLUB. So I’m pretty sure there’s no danger of anybody being shot.

2.) Hmmm, I hate America by using proper grammar. Interesting. Now, I could use your same twisted logic to infer that you believe all Americans are idiots incapable of even effectively communicating their thoughts or opinions. Or I could fall into the stereotype you and your kind have created for modern-day conservatives and simply shoot you in the face. Because according to you and your pals, we’re warmongering nazis who don’t tolerate free speech, etc.

3.) Discuss politics on the internet when you actually have something to say. This is a discussion, not a flame war.

    FURTHERMORE:

Even IF that is indeed a real gun, which is incredibly unlikely, also note the lack of any visible magazine or belt of ammunition. You know, the things guns actually fire (figured I’d have to explain that to you, Jeff, given your impression that the photo counts as an intelligent argument or accusation on your part).
