The breaking news is that the ACLU is filing a law suit against Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum®. The announcement comes the same day as a new Rassmussen poll has Santorum trailing challenger Bob Casey (D) by 23 points.
Thanks to Google’s cache feature I was able to find an email of an article dated Aug 22, 2005 from an apparent activist editor. Along with her calling Bush and Santorum the gestapo, she also wrote or posted text of conversations with the ACLU at the time. Quote – a year ago “they are considering their options”. Seems they considered them just long enough to impact a campaign.

On Hannity & Colmes tonight, co-host Alan Colmes defended Harry Reid, who attended a Las Vegas boxing event and sat in a free front-row seat. The fact that Colmes will go after Duke Cunningham (rightly so, by the way), but will not condemn Reid just adds to the Democratic ‘Culture of Hypocrisy’.

The Justice Department yesterday vigorously defended the recent weekend raid of Rep. William J. Jefferson’s Capitol Hill office as part of a bribery investigation, asserting that the Democratic lawmaker attempted to hide documents from FBI agents while they were searching his New Orleans home last August. The government questioned in a 34-page motion filed in U.S. District Court here whether it could have obtained all the materials it had sought in a subpoena if it had not launched the surprise raid on Jefferson’s congressional office May 20. According to the government filing, an FBI agent caught Jefferson slipping documents into a blue bag in the living room of his New Orleans home during a search.
“It is my belief that when Congressman Jefferson placed documents into the blue bag, he was attempting to conceal documents that were relevant to the investigation,” FBI agent Stacey E. Kent of New Orleans stated in an affidavit that was part of the government’s court submission. The document was filed in response to Jefferson’s lawsuit demanding that the government return to him documents seized during the raid on his Capitol Hill office 11 days ago.

Michelle Malkin appeared on FOX News’ The O’Reilly Factor tonight to discuss anti-Americanism in San Francisco. Bill did a follow up segment because an anti-Factor measured passed in the city after O’Reilly attacked the city for its anti-Military views. Now the San Francisco Board of Education banned Jr. ROTC activities in the school system because of the Military’s “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. Michelle puts in best in this description of San Fran:
MICHELLE MALKIN, FOX NEWS: San Francisco and the Bay area in general is really living in an intergalactic zip code. I mean they are really on another planet. And I think if you look at the unique history of San Francisco, it became an epicenter for hippies and socialists and also sorts of anti-American riff-raff.

QUESTION: Why would he pick such a man to be a domestic adviser?
SNOW: You meant contemptuous as opposed to contemptible I think.
QUESTION: Pure contempt.
SNOW: I’m not sure it’s pure contempt. I know Karl Zinsmeister pretty well and he is somebody who expresses himself with a certain amount of piquancy. You’re perhaps familiar with that, aren’t you, Helen?
