Javier Rodriguez, the organizer of the upcoming May 1st boycott, appeared on FOX News’ afternoon show, Dayside. Rodriguez, who is associated with organizations that want amnesty and an open border, continually said “they” and “your” and instead of “our” to people and actions associated with the United States. He calls the President, “your President Bush” and on the subject of our troops, “you’re killing children” [in Iraq]. A mother of an Iraqi veteran in the audience expressed her outrage at Rodriguez, who in return offended her more. Rodriguez said that the United States is “branding” the children of illegal alien’s and NOT ALLOWED them to go to college.

They don’t want to assimilate.

Welcome to the brave new world of the multiculturalists, where diversity means we have to respect you no matter how caustic your rhetoric.

This moron is typical of the sludge our country has become infested with, a contemptuous blowhard who insults America yet refuses to leave.

Like all fools that these groups seem to have, he just cant separate anything from Iraq. Bring up a topic like your refrigerator light burning out and these pinheads will blame the war in Iraq. Its all they have.

As far as Im concerned, more comments from freaks like this guy and we will eventually have a hard-hitting immigration policy. Opening our border to fools, criminals and bottom-feeders is stupid, we already have enough of them in this country (think DNC).

Besides, they need to go through the correct procedures and become legal – that is why they are in place, for YOU.

Plus, any work program and / or amnesty program will only make the problem worse. The US will be flooded with more illegals because then they would have ANOTHER reason to come into America.

I wonder what shape the country would be in if ol’ Ross Perot would have won the election that year.

What if Amnesty becomes a reality, could it not be possible for someone who commited a crime (doing / did something illegal) to claim “you gave them amnesty when they were doing something illegal, why not me? I want amnesty too”

    I can hear it now…

Govts do give amnesty fairly regularly for “small” offensives.
The locals regularly have parking ticket days where you go in and pay it without penalties. Quite often you can even get the IRS to forgive the penalty portion of overdue taxes. I dont think the illegals will be getting away scott free, I think they will have to pay some sort of fine (which will probably go to partially funding and entirely NEW govt department which of course will work just as well as any other Health, Education, or Welfare entity) instead of go to funding “The Fence” or the Sonora Canal

Sure it’s possible for them to claim that. But nobody who has any influence would agree with them nor grant them amnesty in that case.

You admit that it is likely not practical to ship them all out. I am somewhat neatral on the issue of illegal immigration but it’s obvious to me that trying to round them up is not going to yield any positive results. What we do need to do, however, is enforce the border much better than we are doing now. More personnel, and more surveliance is the answer (not a wall, since a wall is no good unless its manned, and if it’s manned, then well, you don’t need the wall in the first place).

Unfortunately, I doubt congress, and the president are really looking to solve the problem. See, for them it’s not really a problem since big and small bussinesses alike need the cheap laber in order to make money.

    6:44 pm  [ Quote ]

    Zim,

I see your point about the wall would need to manned and if it’s manned then no wall is really needed.

I agree the borders need to be tightned to stop illegal crossings. I think, in time, if our borders were to be extremely tightened (sealed off) and with the continual process of sending back Mexican illegals, then eventually we would not have the problem.

I read someone’s thoughts about how to stop the illegals from crossing the borders. The comment was to tattoo all illegals foreheads and then send them back. That way if they come back we will know they were illegal..

Very funny but ya know, it just might work…

And you guys are surpised that people compare righties to Nazis?

But anyway, I sort of agree with you. We need much much much better border enforcement in order to prevent what has been going on for the past 30 years. As far as the illegals here, well, the best thing to do at this point is to integrate them into society as fast as possible.

Of course it’s nowhere near as simple as this sounds. Bussiness (both parties in their pockets) need the cheap labor and many illegals might think twice about taking advantage of the amnesty since once they’re legal, it be harder to find jobs since they’ll need to be paid more than minimum wage. Not to mention that the fine in the new proposal is something that many immigrants would be unwilling to pay and there is a good reason why the plan makes it so difficult for illegal immigrants to gain legal residency. If you think about it, who do you think might want to keep the status quo and have cheap illegal labor lying around?

US admits Iraq is terror ‘cause’
    By Tom Baldwin

Report says that 11,000 attacks worldwide shows the war has become driving factor for extremists

THREE years after its invasion of Iraq the US Administration acknowledged yesterday that the war has become “a cause” for Islamic extremists worldwide and there is a risk of the country becoming a safe haven for terrorists hoping to launch fresh attacks on America.
According to CIA data released yesterday, there were 11,111 terrorist incidents last year, killing more than 14,600 non-combatants, including 8,300 in Iraq. Of the 56 American civilians killed by terrorists in 2005, some 47 of them were in Iraq.

The figures in the State Department’s annual report on terror represented a fourfold rise compared with 2004, partly because it has adopted a broader definition of such incidents since having to withdraw data used two years ago on the ground that it was grossly understated. Officials conceded yesterday that the rising violence in Iraq was a factor in last year’s figures, saying that fatalities from terrorism there had “probably doubled”.

This so called march or protest makes no sense why stop working you prove too others that by being here greater accomplishments can be achieved, If you are in this protest you making the wrong statement, not like this is wrong way of doing things.

I can think of millions of more deserving, more law-abiding foreign nationals who should be allowed to come here more easily, but cannot because they choose to obey immigrantion law, and an ocean separates them from us.

I say, “More deserving,” because they have legitimate political reasons to seek amnesty. The border crashers from Mexico are not being systematically persecuted (like in dozens of Muslim-controlled or Communist controlled countries)—they come here for one reason only—a free ride to a better life because their home country is poor and overcrowded.

Living in a “poor and overcrowded” country is no justification for breaking the law of another sovereign nation, let alone seeking
    amnesty.

Otherwise, America would be opening its doors to refugees from every third world country on the planet

Here is a condensed look at the Mexican Constitution with its laws on Immigration.

In brief, the Mexican Constitution states that:
    • Immigrants and foreign visitors are banned from public political discourse.
    • Immigrants and foreigners are denied certain basic property rights.
    • Immigrants are denied equal employment rights.
    • Immigrants and naturalized citizens will never be treated as real Mexican citizens.
    • Immigrants and naturalized citizens are not to be trusted in public service.
    • Immigrants and naturalized citizens may never become members of the clergy.
    • Private citizens may make citizens arrests of lawbreakers (i.e., illegal immigrants)
and hand them to the authorities.
    • Immigrants may be expelled from Mexico for any reason and without due process.

    J. Michael Waller, Ph.D., is the Center for Security Policy’s Vice President for Information Operations.
The official text of the Constitution of Mexico appears on the Website of the Chamber of Deputies, or lower house of Congress, of the United Mexican States: http://www.cddhcu.gob.mx/leyinfo/txt/1.txt.

    ********************************

    A more detailed look:

    ********************************

The Mexican constitution: Unfriendly to immigrants

The Mexican constitution expressly forbids non-citizens to participate in the country’s political life.

Non-citizens are forbidden to participate in demonstrations or express opinions in public about domestic politics. Article 9 states, “only citizens of the Republic may do so to take part in the political affairs of the country.” Article 33 is unambiguous: “Foreigners may not in any way participate in the political affairs of the country.”

The Mexican constitution denies fundamental property rights to foreigners.

If foreigners wish to have certain property rights, they must renounce the protection of their own governments or risk confiscation. Foreigners are forbidden to own land in Mexico within 100 kilometers of land borders or within 50 kilometers of the coast. Article 27 states, “Only Mexicans by birth or naturalization and Mexican companies have the right to acquire ownership of lands, waters, and their appurtenances, or to obtain concessions for the exploitation of mines or of waters. The State may grant the same right to foreigners, provided they agree before the Ministry of Foreign Relations to consider themselves as nationals in respect to such property, and bind themselves not to invoke the protection of their governments in matters relating thereto; under penalty, in case of noncompliance with this agreement, of forfeiture of the property acquired to the Nation.

Under no circumstances may foreigners acquire direct ownership of lands or waters within a zone of one hundred kilometers along the frontiers and of fifty kilometers along the shores of the country.” (Emphasis added)

The Mexican constitution denies equal employment rights to immigrants, even legal ones, in the public sector.

Article 32: “Mexicans shall have priority over foreigners under equality of circumstances for all classes of concessions and for all employment, positions, or commissions of the Government in which the status of citizenship is not indispensable. In time of peace no foreigner can serve in the Army nor in the police or public security forces.”

The Mexican constitution guarantees that immigrants will never be treated as real
Mexican citizens, even if they are legally naturalized.

Article 32 bans foreigners, immigrants, and even naturalized citizens of Mexico from serving as military officers, Mexican-flagged ship and airline crew, and chiefs of seaports and airports:

“In order to belong to the National Navy or the Air Force, and to discharge any office or commission, it is required to be a Mexican by birth. This same status is indispensable for captains, pilots, masters, engineers, mechanics, and in general, for all personnel of the crew of any vessel or airship protected by the Mexican merchant flag or insignia.
