I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.
mdconservative tipped me off with this e-mail:
Blitzer had [I just lost his name] talking about a poll of Hillary Clinton with and without her middle name. At the end the two giggled about how there must be some “nostalgia” for the “Clinton Years” and how great things “were.” Blitzer then says that he loved the poll and “thank you for doing it.” The smiles were just ridiculous.
Even I was surprised that a biased network like CNN would go this far to praise a Clinton. The analyst mdconservative was talking about is Bill Schneider, who’s love for the Clintons is well documented. In fact he did a sycophantic segment on Bill Clinton not more than two weeks ago.
In this segment, Schneider covered how Hillary’s favorability rating with Rodham in her name and without it. Schneider concluded that only having Clinton included in her name helps. The real magic happened at the end of the segment when Schneider was smiling even harder in this exchange with host Wolf Blitzer:
For full disclosure, Schneider has spent a pretty penny on Democrats in his days before CNN.
Here is the conclusion of Schneider’s Clinton fluff piece:
SCHNEIDER: Right now, President Bush has a very negative image; 57 to 40 percent unfavorable. And former President Bill Clinton, just about the reverse, 57 to 38 favorable. There may be some nostalgia out there for the good times under the Bill Clinton era.BLITZER: I love that poll, thanks for doing it Bill.

So it’s perfectly fine to call Fox News “totally biased” without providing any examples, yet the second anyone like Ian shows the numerous biased comments by those who tell you the “news” (which just so happens to include NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, etc)... it becomes a joke with the tired liberal punch line of “fair and balanced lol”.
I’m still waiting for Fox to make up fake documents with Microsoft and proclaim that they are “fake but accurate”.
Something tells me I shouldnt hold my breath.

Where were Schneider’s pom-poms, I must have overlooked them.
What a smack-off.

57-40 unfavorable is virtually identical to 57-38 favorable. I swear sometimes I think CNN is a satire of a news agency.

Jesus, you look at a phrase like “the good old times under the Bill Clinton era” and shout “proof! liberal media.” Come on.
I know you guys hated Bill Clinton and I’m not a big fan either but you have to admit, things were good in the US. The world liked us, we had a budget surplus, and the economy was booming. It’s hard not to think about those times and wonder if there will ever be “such a good time” leaving politics and personal opinion about the president aside.
I could look at the Bush years the same was if it were true for all people across the board. It’s not the same. I think you know it.
And before I get slamed as a liberal, I just yesterday switched parties from the Dems TO the Republicans. I’m hoping we here in Nebraska can get back to being TRUE Barry Goldwater republicanism.

Ben: For most of Billy Jeff’s presidency, the Republicans controlled both houses of Congress and brought Billy Jeff screaming, kicking and crying to accept many of their economic policies. Which mostly accounts for the good economy during his term in office.
Also, sad to say it but, the economy under Bush, including unemployment figures are far better than during Clinton’s years. The problem is that Bush and his pals are so dang bad at communicating the real facts to the American people, that the people believe things are bad when they are not.
Lastly, I am willing to bet that before 2008 Bush will have poll numbers closer to his post 9/11 numbers.

And the White House Press Corps can’t understand why the Bush administration have their TVs tuned into Fox News?
Here’s the reason, plain as day.
Bill Schneider has about as much journalistic credibility as Crusty the Clown.

So explain then why with the Republicans retaining control of the Congress for the last 6 years, and now a Republican President to boot, things are looking the way they are now?
I’m going to enjoy reading your answer.

The world liked us? The bombing of the WTC, the additional bombing of embassy and other US interests around the globe? And during that time period the planning for the 9/11 attacks.
In this case I am not blaming Clinton for 9/11, but I think it is a little bit of a leap to say the world “liked us.” And if giving nuclear technology to North Korea is part of getting the world to love us, I’d prefer they hate us.

what-do-you-want-to-hack-today
You have the USS Cole, Khobar towers, first WTC, and although nobody wants to do it, the 9/11 planning happened all the while Bill Clinton sat around and decided the policy for Osama Bin Laden would be “Although I know he wants to committ crimes against America, I have nothing to hold him on”.
Don’t forget about China’s emergence during that time thanks to certain technologies that they magically developed all the while having who knows what donating who knows how much to old slick billy.
With China supporting Iran the way it does, I can only hope that doesnt evolve into something that does cost American Lives. Same goes with the wonderful North Korean deal that they simply broke.
I really hope we can look back at the Clinton years of inactivity and laugh, but I’m afraid we won’t be able too.

Umnumzana, Ill give it to you. I know you wanted to say that the clinton years were bs but compare them to bush, they cant help but look good
Gas prices, immigration, our global diplomacy is a joke, N. Korea and Iran both dont like us and they both have nuclear weapons, alot more people dont like us, national deficit, widening gap between upper and middle/lower class, low funding for programs due to other obligations, a botched reaction to a natural disaster in the continental US.
How could they not look better with Clinton…Wait they were

Victor Vicodin and The Leak: Sadly, I must admit that Bush and the Republicans were much better as the opposition party than they are in the role of controlling both Houses and the White House!
That being said – The positive economy under Billy Jeff was mostly due to two factors: (1) The dot.com boom, which at the end of his term in office was already falling apart and if not for Bush tax cuts would have devastated our economy. (2) “Conservative” Republicans were holding Billy Jeff’s feet to the fire on economic issues.
As to the charges about our being better liked under Billy Jeff: (1) You liberals forget we were attacked by Islamic terrorists within 9 months of Bush taking office and they planned it for 5 years before, during Billy Jeff’s term of office, so I guess they hated him too?. (2) Billy Jeff had no values, no core beliefs and he was great at making people like him and making them feel good, despite his many failures. There was no reality to this feel good administration, but Billy Jeff was everything to everyone and he did not and does not believe in anything but his own sense of self importance. (3) We were attacked by terrorists during Billy Jeff’s term and he was simply fortunate that 9/11 did not occur on his watch.
Lastly, despite all the gloom and doom and Bush’s many mistakes. (a) This economy is booming. (b) unemployment is so low it is considered full employment. (c)We have not had another attack on Ametrican soil since Bush launched the war against Afghanistan and Iraq. (d) Unfortunately Bush is a victim of his own success and his inability to sell ice water to people dying of thirst (poor communicator). Further, most of the problems we are facing today like high gas prices and illegal immigration are the result of decades of ruinous Democrat Party policies and their current war against Bush. Note, the Democrats are in an all out war against Bush and America, while Bush is fighting the terroists and defending America; and we know which party and policies you support.
