This picture was found at a protest rally in Dallas yesterday:

Kim Priestap writes:

The fact that the Dems are recruiting at these protests isn’t a surprise. It fits into their big picture of race and politics (which is why the flyer’s visual puts Texas and Mexico together). The Democrats classify people based upon race and then work to corner the racial voting collectives. At this point, the white vote is already split down the middle, half voting Democrat, half Republican. The Dems have cornered the black voting collective with over 90% voting Democratic. If Democrats manage to corner the Hispanic vote like they have cornered the black vote, Republicans won’t win the White House for a very long time. This is the Democrats’ dream, so they are trying very hard to collectivize the Hispanic community by turning the immigration issue into another civil rights issue.

Just another reason for me to vote against the Democrats here in Texas.

Oh yea, my vote doesn’t matter cause I’m white middle class born in the US.

So what if the Democrats are recruiting from recent immigrants? There is nothing racist in doing so. The political parties here have sought to corner the immigrant vote for the past 2 centuries. From Irish, to Eastern Europeans, whenever there were large waves of migrations into the US, there is always a political party (usually the one not in power at the time) that seeks to capitalize on that.

Zim – the difference is the immigrants you refer to were here LEGALLY! We are now talking about millions of Mexicans that are here ILLEGALLY! What part of that can’t your warped brain understand?

Assuming some kind of compromise passes in congress, there will be a path for plenty of those illegal immigrants to obtain legal residency and citizenship. Obviously we disagree on immigration issue, it seems, but I see nothing wrong with any political party, whether democrat or republican seeking to work with those immigrants.

Its funny how you critizize the democrats doing something while your party is too scared to make a move for fear they might screw themselves, Ian. Hasnt that been your opinion for democrats for the longest? They dont have a plan or policies.

They do now cause it doesnt take a fool to realize that illegal or not, Latinos are hell bent on becoming a force in the United States and from what it looks like, they are on track.

You are aware that the republicans are trying to stretch the issue past elections but I GUESS thats understandable even though some on this site might say they’re avoiding a real issue of this country like they would say with dems and iraq.

Oh yeah speaking of, dont you all think we spent enough of taxpayers money and gone deep enough into depth where we can call it a day in iraq. Thats alot of money down the drain if hell breaks loose out there.

But back to the topic (sorry I got a lot on my mind) This is an issue that needs to be addressed. Its sad that no action or bill has been passed yet while billions of eyes stay on capitol hill.

I say the legalization of any illegal aliens here will just be a message to the rest of mexico to just walk on over cause we are passing out free citizenship passes. Im not racist or prejusticed but besides the security implications, we are looking at a future workplace and possibly a country that will be too crowed for comfort.

    So much misinformation!

First, Mexican is not a race. There are white Mexicans, black Mexicans and everything in between. Have you noticed that on census forms these options are usually listed: White (non-Hispanic), and Hispanic (all races).

Second, GBAA, illegal immigrants are not able to vote. You all have not gone mad. Your reading comprehension and logic skills may not be up to par, but you are certainly not mad.

Frankly I’m amazed they’re trying to get more votes in just Texas (based on the image). Hell they only won New Mexico by roughly 300 votes, you’d think they’d want to secure that first before trying to get votes out of a Republican stronghold like Texas.

Once again, Arizona seems like a lost cause for them. Despite the fact that, historically speaking, we’ve NEVER gone Democrat; we also have few Electoral College votes. Glad the Dems can spot a lost cause when they see one :)

Oh and Zim? Just a friendly correction here, even if that compromise passes now, the odds of any of the illegals obtaining a legal status before the elections is pretty slim. Mostly because of all the fines they would have to pay, the fact that they’d have to learn English, etc.

Today is National Illegal Alien Day!

The news media will attend all demonstrations, but U.S. immigration officials won’t attend any. Illegal aliens will march through our city streets with impunity.

Immigration Debate: Facts Every American Should Know

It is ALREADY against the law to enter the United States illegally, punishable by a fine and imprisonment. It is ALREADY against the law to hire illegal aliens. We don’t need new immigration laws, we only need the current laws to be enforced – and a fence. Read on: Learn the facts about illegal immigration that every American should know.

FACT: “Immigrants” are people lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United States. “Illegal aliens” are people who enter the United States without permission; their presence in the United States violates the law.

FACT: United States Code, Title 8, Chapter 12, Subchapter II, Part VIII, Section 1325, states: “Any alien who enters the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers shall be fined or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both, and, for a subsequent commission of any such offense, be fined or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.”

FACT: United States Code, Title 8, Chapter 12, Subchapter II, Part VIII, Section 1324a, states: “It is unlawful for a person or other entity to hire for employment in the United States, an alien, knowing the alien is an unauthorized alien…”

FACT: In 2006, jobs, elementary school education, drivers licenses, in-state college tuition, bank accounts, food stamps, health care, and even home ownership, are all offered to illegal aliens. Some city councils are even considering letting illegal aliens vote in elections because they have children in public schools. The states of Washington, California, New York, Illinois, Oklahoma, Texas, and Utah provide in-state college tuition rates to illegal aliens; other states are considering the same tuition policy. Several states grant drivers licenses to illegal aliens, ignoring the fact that driver’s licenses are used as a form of ID nationwide. In a few instances, illegal aliens received expensive organ transplant surgery free of charge, and they were placed ahead of tax-paying Americans on the waiting list for the scarce organs. Realtors and lenders in several cities have been known to help illegal aliens purchase homes. Several American cities have become sanctuaries for illegal aliens: In 2003, Seattle’s City Council passed an ordinance preventing the city’s police from questioning the immigration status of people they meet on the streets. For aliens crossing America’s southwest border illegally, water-stations are provided to make the trip through the desert easier. Humanitarian groups placed the water stations along known illegal alien smuggling routes in the Arizona desert.

FACT: In June 2003, the United States Park Ranger Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police announced the “Ten Most Dangerous National Parks in the United States.” Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in Arizona, Amistad National Recreation Area in Texas, and Big Bend National Park in Texas, claimed the top three positions because of the high volume of illegal alien smuggling activity in those parks. At Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, the rangers estimated that 250 violent drug smugglers and illegal aliens march through the park and public campground areas each night.

FACT: In April 2005, a group of U.S. citizens calling themselves “Minutemen” went to the U.S.-Mexico border to observe illegal aliens entering the country and turn them over to the U.S. Border Patrol. The Minutemen proved that illegal immigration could be stopped by placing more guards on America’s borders, but President George W. Bush derided the efforts of the Minutemen by calling them “vigilantes.”

FACT: In 2006, it is estimated that more than 12 million illegal aliens reside in the United States. In 2003, the Department of Homeland Security said that it apprehended 1,046,422 illegal aliens, but experts said that nearly 3 million people illegally entered the United States that year. In 2002, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security officially reported that there were approximately 7 million unauthorized immigrants living in the United States, and that 67 percent of them, or 4,690,000 people, had entered the United States without being stopped or questioned. They had entered the country illegally by sneaking across the border. Source: “Yearbook of Immigration Statistics,” U.S. Department of Homeland Security, 2002, 2003.

FACT and OPINION: It took only 19 people to destroy the World Trade Center and kill nearly 3,000 Americans on September 11, 2001. Americans can’t afford to allow millions of people to illegally cross U.S. borders and reside in the United States on the assumption that most of them are just “migrant workers.” Allowing and encouraging illegal immigration to the United States, especially after 9/11, is dangerous and foolhardy.

    Thank you.

I wouldn’t say it is impossible, but it is certainly not easy. The right amount of incentives need to be offered for illegals to step forward and take part of the amnesty. At the same time, border security needs to be stepped up drastically. I cannot envision any other solution. Some folks are complaining that the INS is not arresting people at those immigration rallies. Come on, are those people that dumb?

It’s not a matter of immigrants avoiding the unions. It’s quite the opposite. The unions won’t want the immigrants in their prescious union.

Across the country no, they have pitiful influence. As far as I know the county of AZ I live in is essentially a dead-zone for them.

There are certain areas around the nation where Unions still have some degree of influence though, mostly dependant strictly on what sort of union it is (pilots, etc).

But fine, if it’s the opposite, why don’t unions want immigrant members?

Well the best solution is enforce the law and put up a fence. But have this fence have 18,000 volts of electricity through it. Houston needs electricity, California needs electricity. It creates jobs also. and at the border have heat sensors for all vehicles…set them at 98.6 and if anything is above 98.6 detain the vehicle and send back. Also have mandatory vehicle inspections for all vehicles going into Mexico. When they come back check the vehicle again. If there is more than what is in the vehicle the driver is held until proof is shown. Simple enough I think.

Oh yeah, I’m half Latino, lived in Mexico for 7 years, and know what bullshit this argument of Amnesty is. Legal immigrants founded this country. The fact is, groups like “La Raza” don’t believe in the border. Think I’m kidding, ask the protestors if they would be for Amnesty if it meant closing the border completely. We need to control our immigration policy here in the US, not the Capitol of Mexico.

In the past when Latinos of all backgrounds came to this country, they forced themselves to assimilate, to the point where their children don’t even speak their native tongue. My Mother taught herself English, out of respect to her new country.

Amnesty should be for people fleeing oppressive governments, like Cubans who risking their lives in converted Taxis to float here.

They profiled a former illegal who hires illegals and said, “We don’t usually have a reason to check their documents.” Of course, CNN doesn’t question that.

Of course, CNN fails to mention how difficult it is to get into other countries. What a load of crap, seriously.

They talked to a lone counter demonstrator and proceded to “chide” his assertion about illegal foreigners protesting, being non-sensical.

What is with the threats these illegal protesters are making? For instance, “You have awakened the sleeping giant..” “Today we march, tomorrow we vote.”

I know in Washington State, they had to recount three times before they got what they wanted, a Democrat governor. I also know many votes were found illegal but state folks wanted to resolve it so nothing else was done after third recount.

Wonder how many illegals vote each year? Say even 1%, that is roughly 110,000. Cetainly enought to swing state and local elections.
