Expose the Left
April 9, 2006

Senator John Kerry (D – MA) was on Meet the Press this morning to talk about a wide variety of topics that included the War in Iraq, Immigration, and the never-ending CIA “leak” case.

Moderator Tim Russert played a clip of Kerry in early 2004 saying that we will not cut and run from Iraq, then he played a clip of Kerry on Meet the Press in January of 2005 saying that there should be no time table in Iraq. This morning, Kerry flip-flopped on both issues.

Later on the show, Kerry implied that the current President Bush is a traitor when he read quote by his father, former President George H. W. Bush:

SEN. KERRY: Well, the president has the right, obviously, to declassify. Whether he has the right to declassify for these kinds of political purposes, I don’t know. Let me read you what his father said. Do you know what his father said? George Herbert Walker Bush said in 1991 at the dedication of the George Bush CIA headquarters, he said, “Even though I’m a tranquil guy now at this stage of my life, I have nothing but contempt and anger for those who betray the trust by exposing the name of our sources. They are, in my view, the most insidious of traitors.”

MR. RUSSERT: But there’s no one suggesting…

SEN. KERRY: George Herbert Walker—no.

MR. RUSSERT: ...there’s no one suggesting that President Bush revealed the name…

SEN. KERRY: No, absolutely nothing.

Oh, yeah, there’s no one suggesting that President Bush was involved. No one other than John F. Kerry. But lets not omit the fact that Plame wasn’t an active agent in the last five years, therefore nothing wrong was done.

Here’s a doozie; Kerry on Iraq:

SEN. KERRY: Well, as I said in the debate with the president, I made a mistake in the way that I talked about the war, but the president made a mistake in going to war. Now, which is worse? I could have done a better job in the campaign explaining what I meant. I voted against it because I believed we should pay for it, and because they didn’t have a plan. And our mistake was one of a campaign strategy of not going out and explaining that. I voted out of principle, and I will continue to vote out of principle.

Could someone please explain what the bolded part means? I think Kerry is talking about the money President Bush asked for to rebuild Iraq.

He’s talking about the infamous $87 billion. Kerry voted for a version of the bill that required the money to be raised by a roll-back of the tax cuts, but voted against a version of the bill in which the money came from nowhere (i.e. deficit spending). The latter version is the one that passed.

This is what “I voted for it before I voted against it” was supposed to mean.

Well, John Kerry would certainly know more than most people what it takes to be a traitor.

It wasn’t Bush who slandered American soldiers in Vietnam and it also wasn’t Bush who complained that our troops were “terrorizing” Iraqis in the middle of the night.

And Democrats wonder why Bush was re-elected and why the Republicans control all levels of the US government these days.

Nuclear material for energy production is of a different grade than that used for weaponry. They aren’t interchangeable. So providing nuclear fuel would not have helped them along the path of developing nuclear weapons. If you had been following the news on this subject, you probably would have known that.

Believe it or not, facts are often useful when making points…although around here they’re not as important as emotional reaction.

It’s a messed up country we live in, folks. The Dems ran Kerry in ‘04, a man who clearly could not galvanize the masses (but nevertheless a much more intelligent and sophisticated man than GWB), but they probably still would have taken the victory if there wasn’t so much election malfeasance in Ohio & Florida.

Seriously, the electronic voting is outrageous. My ATM has a paper trail and has never made a mistake. Las Vegas slot machines are legally subject to incredibly high standards of oversight, but the machines that supposedly safeguard our form of government have none whatsoever? EVERY American citizen should care about that.

Meanwhile, the corporations that pay for politicians on the right do the same on the left. And they do the research and provide both sides with talking points about political issues along the way, artifically narrowing the debate—playing both ends against the middle.

That’s the nation we live in today: A nation that doesn’t want to admit to its own cancer, much less do the hard work required to expose it, root it out, and enact measures to prevent it from gaining such power again.

This country is swirling around the bowl…and we’ve got a empowered right-wing government and its base perched gleefully on a turd of its own design, rejoicing in the wild ride.

What did Bush mean when he said this:

“I’ve asked for Congress’ support to enable the administration to keep the peace…If you want to keep the peace, you’ve got to have the authorization to use force. It’s a chance for Congress to say, we support the administration’s ability to keep the peace.”

Or this, in regards the Plame leak:
“if anyone in this administration was involved in it, they would no longer be in this administration.”

It really is true. George Bush could crap on your kitchen floor and you’d scoop it up and call it pudding. Not only that, you’d praise his bringing pudding to the masses as he ran naked from house to house, crapping on kitchen floors.

Everybody in the world knows this guy is a raving loon, except the 1% of the world who refuse to face reality. Sadly that 1% of the world has the capability of destroying it because they’re the 30% of Americans who continue to support this madman.

Kerry is a goof. Every word out of his mouth is calculated, every response is an attempted soundbite.

Watching him Sunday was a disturbing reminder of what a squishy, spineless individual he is and how close he came to being our president.

I still hope the Dems can come up with a serious candidate for 2008 so there can be a real campaign and our system can function properly with some real competition between the parties, but I have no clue who they could nominate that would meet that qualification. I’m not even sure they have serious folks in the Dem party anymore.

Instead that party has filled its ranks with people like Iilana above, who thinks the majority of people in the country agree with Kerry even though he just lost the only real test for that, and Sandy, who doesn’t understand a simple statement on deterence, a fundamental national defense strategy utilized and broadly understood and supported in this country for over 60 years.

Now please stop with all your ridiculous claims that Kerry flip flops on Iraq.
