John Hinderaker of Powerline appeared on CNN’s On the Story to discuss CBS’ decision to acquire Katie Couric, the current co-host of NBC’s The Today Show. Hinderaker believes that the decision was a poor one and moves the CBS News program “in the direction of entertainment” rather than “hard news”. When asked if he thought Couric was unqualified based on her fifteen years of soft news or that she was a woman, Hinderaker said it was her reporting soft news.
