Lou Dobbs, whom I rarely agree with, demolished the pro-illegal immigration Maria Salinas today on the 3pm hour of CNN’s Live From. Dobbs position on national security is firm; he is for securing the borders and was against last month’s port deal that eventually turned sour. Liberals praised Dobbs for his position on the ports deal; however they have now turned against him because of his view on securing the border.
Media Matters For America is now smearing Dobbs with another one of their “more conservatives than liberals on the show” reports.
Salinas tried to pull the race card out, but Dobbs quickly shut her down. That is the tactic of the left. If you can’t win with your wits, then call ‘em bigots. John Cole knows what I’m talking about.

Dobbs simply associates Mexicans with illegal immigrants so he uses the terms interchangibly – that by itself does not indicate that he thinks Latinos are inherently inferior to anglo-saxons.

It was neither racism nor prejudice. Mr. Dobbs stated several times that it didn’t matter where the immigrants were from, what matters is that they are undocumented and that the borders are not secure. It was Ms. Salinas who kept throwing out the race card.
The problem with Ms. Salinas is becoming too common in this country. She see herself as a latina first and an American second. As the son of an Italian immigrant, we were taught to honor our heritage, but we were raised as Americans.

Having lived in Texas for many years I can see both sides of the issues. Illegals do cause a drain of government services, but no one really complains when they’re paid peanuts to clean houses, maintain pools, and landscape lawns. But I do have a problem when they demand drivers licenses, welfare, and spanish speaking schools.

- In Houston, TX, Carlos Reyna, Richard Gonzales, Louis Gomes – these 3 immigration officers were fined and sentenced to jail for failing to give “timely” medical treatment to an illegal who had been injured during a raid. US District Judge Lee Rosenthal upheld the accusation and refused to accept Gonzoles testamony when he said the illegal was faking an injury. The family sued our government in federal court and won $2.15 million.

The reaction of bleeding heart liberals to this issue amazes me. The first act of over 11 million aliens is to break a federal law, violate our national sovereignty and then subvert our economy by working here illegally. Why then should they be allowed to stay here? They are, by any reasonable definition – criminals.
The Mexico Flags and the dearth of American flags should not shock anyone. (a) They call themselves Mexican-Americans, notice their loyalty is first and foremost to Mexico, while they take advantage of the prosperity and health care benefits of the United States. Though my vocabulary is not very extensive, I can read, write and speak a little in Spanish: mi vocabulario no es muy extenso, pero puedo leer, poder escribir y poder hablar en español. Our problem is that liberals demand we adhere to their definition of political correctness and they are not interested in these people getting the tools necessary to fully integrate into our society and being able to take advantage of all the United States has to offer them. Democrats want the illegals in this country because they will almost certainly vote for Democratic for the social give-aways.
Republicans want the illegals in this country because they’ve sold out to Big Corporate interests who want to exploit them for cheap labor at the expense of hard working middle class Americans.
You expect this kind of thing from the Democrats – they’re shameless and it’s just not surprising to find them supporting policies that aren’t in America’s best interest.
As a conservative I had hoped for more from the GOP, but they’ve sold out to Big Corporations so far that I’ve given up ever hoping for their redemption. That’s why I will never again punch a straight Republican ticket.

Can anyone actually back this up with something? In my old life I worked construction, and more than once I’ve seen the cliche “jump into the truck” dance, but I’ve never heard of any mass-hiring of illegals at GM. Illegals are working for “small businesses” and independent contractors, as far as I know, and being paid whatever anyone wants to pay them. Ted’s Lawn Service, for a weeks work, not a permanant job over at the John Deer factory. How would permanant work make any sense in this context anyway? How does he find himself back on the street corner the next day if the work he’s doing is a factory gig? What “Big Corporations” are hiring mexican illegals?
