Expose the Left
March 23, 2006

(via Michelle Malkin)

Thanks for saying thanks (/sarcasm):

Our hearts are filled with joy today as we heard that Harmeet Singh Sooden, Jim Loney and Norman Kember have been safely released in Baghdad. Christian Peacemaker Teams rejoices with their families and friends at the expectation of their return to their loved ones and community. Together we have endured uncertainty, hope, fear, grief and now joy during the four months since they were abducted in Baghdad.

Michelle describes the situation:

Our troops teamed with British forces to rescue three left-wing, anti-war activists kidnapped by terrorists in Iraq. Those freed were Canadians James Loney, 41, and Harmeet Singh Sooden, 32; and Briton Norman Kember, 74. The men, who were members of the Chicago-based Christian Peacemaker Teams, were kidnapped on Nov. 26 along with their American colleague, Tom Fox, 54, whose body was found earlier this month.

At least the New York Times gave credit to the soldiers. (via Drudge):

BAGHDAD, Iraq, March 23 — Three Western peace workers who were held hostage in Iraq for four months were rescued in a military operation today, two weeks after their American colleague was killed in captivity.

And the left wonders why people think they hate our troops.

Stop the ACLU brings attention to an article in which the Christian group says the workers were freed. They weren’t freed, they were rescued!

Not only that, but they even blamed the military for the kidnapping.

“We believe the illegal occupation of Iraq by multinational forces is the root cause of the insecurity which led to this kidnapping and so much pain and suffering in Iraq today. The occupation must end,? the co-chairman of CPT Doug Pritchard told a news conference in Toronto.

Update: Now the group adds insult to ingratitude. Not only are they ungrateful, they place the blame for their kidnapping on the very coalition that rescued them. Unbelievable!

Hmmm, so are they going back and endanger more troops?

Also note that there were no quotes from the three in the cpt response. If the 3 did thank the troops, will the cpt disown them and put words in their mouths?

So many questions. I call for an independent investigation! wink

Of course they are not grateful. They are self-righteous loons who are embarrassed by the rescue. In their minds, the captors were friends, America the enemy. As to the unfortunate death, well he was an American and had more to repent for.

I think nature has programmed some members of the human species to take actions to weed themselves out of the gene pool.

Other animals are weeded out by predators. Since humans no longer have natural predators, nature needs to find some other way to remove waste matter generated by the evolutionary process. Nature designates 10% of the human population to act as vehicles for disposal. Hence the conduct suicide bombings, gay marriage, partial-birth abortions, oppose things (like the Patriot Act) that would save their lives, etc.

Think about it. Why else would Islamic radicals and far-left moonbats have so much in common? Why do leftist even LOOK ugly (in order to further preclude reproduction?).

Look, nobody is asking you to support the mission of those peace activists or whatever they are. I personally think they’re a buncha looney morons but hey, it’s their choice to do that and put themselves in danger. But saying you wish they were beheaded just shows what sort of human being you are.

9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

    Clay,

Who said conservatives don’t believe in evolution? Your failure to understand your opponents is why you lose elections in such a humiliating manner.

What is also funny is how the left is obsessed with abortion, which results in merely reducing the number of new liberals born into the world. This irony is lost on the left – that their own actions have reduced the number of left-wing voters. tee hee….

However a million thank yous for their “muslims brothers” and the Iraqis who are being “detained illegally” who are probably the actual brothers of the fascists who kidnapped them and murdered their friend. These people are disgusting and immoral twerps. These people CAUSE wars because the fascists of this world cannot help but take advantage of their stupidity.

    Rob,

Don’t worry. The US/UK troops merely postponed the inevitable forces of Darwinian evolution from occuring. Nature has selected both these activists and their Al-Qaeda bretheren to act as vehicles for the removal of waste matter from the gene pool. They are pre-programmed to weed themselves out of the gene pool, and will find a way to fulfil their instincts. Nature always prevails in the end.

    bob,

Jesus as Pacifist is actually heresy. If you asked for my advice, which you didn’t, but this is a weird cyberspace conversation and this is how its done I guess, I’d recommend reading the rest of the book, although the Sermon on the Mount is a good start.

I’d also point out that if your daughter is taken from your house to be raped by the Secret police, as a warning to you, those standing around you letting it happen are not peacemakers. If your brother is buried with a few thousand of his closest friends in a grave dug by a tractor, you are not living in peace. And believing that Saddam is manufacturing weapons that kill lots and lots of people, and storing them in bunkers one bolt-cutter away from a terrorists back-pack, and doing nothing about it, doesn’t remind me of God at all.

Asking some to stop continually biting, hissing and trying to grind us down as a people (“grumbling” is a Biblical parallel) doesn’t mean they should at any time feel comfortable looking at themselves as those blessed … when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. its like getting drunk, falling into a ditch and breaking your leg, and then saying to yourself Men are making fun of me because I’m so righteous.

I’m not telling you that if you are Christian, you have to support the Iraq war. I am telling you that people that won’t even acknowledge they were rescued are dishonorable and remind me of Jesus about as much as Chuck there.

chuck: You are only exposing your atheism and your extreme hatred for Christ and His Church, and that reflects poorly on your fellow travelers – liberals!

Not everyone calling themselves Christian are indeed bible believing Christians. They probably honestly think they are Christian, but are deceived. I cannot explain the difference to you, it is something good men know and understand and evil men can never accept!

You atheist type liberals amuse me, you make the same terribly ignorant accusations against God and Christians, and worse you probably really believe they are true. God has never said that war in defense of our families and our country is wrong. Surely, if a person comes into your home and tries to rape and kill your wife or daughter, you would, if you love them and in their defense, kill that invader in your home. That is not to do murder, but to save your family’s lives, you are forced to take a life. To save the lives of our fellow Americans, the same principle applies: People came into our home (America) and killed members of our family (Americans)and to defend other members of that American family, we have gone to where the terrorists live; and in trying to force them to stop their threats against our family, we have had to kill many of them.

If we really did go there (Iraq and Afghanistan) to get oil or occupy their land for our own prosperity at their expense (we did not), or if they were not trying to kill members of our family, surely that would be to do murder and God would condemn it. But, there is no evidence whatsoever that we went to war, after they declared war on us, for any profit, rather we have paid dearly in defense of our American Family.

If you cannot just know the difference between our soldiers, defending our American family; and terrorists willing to die to force us to accept Allah, then no amount of reasoning with you will ever help you. Either you recognize the difference betwen good and evil or you don’t; and apparently you do not! Evil does exist – evil is, and we must resist it even with our lives if we choose to remain free. Sadly, too many on the left prefer appeasement and unilateral surrender.

It is horrifying to witness so much slander of these gentle Christians.

Opposing violence and hatred with love, with “faith, hope, and charity”, is not like falling down drunk. Tom Fox died for the sins of mankind—no matter which ‘side’ more vociferously declares the ‘evil’ of his foe. CPT accepts death as a potential end, so long as the journey is righteous.

Lastly, the comment, ‘Jesus as pacifist is actually heresy.’ That’s… just…

This is taken directly from those “ingrates” web site.

    23 March 2006, 9 p.m. ET

We have been so overwhelmed and overjoyed to have Jim, Harmeet and Norman freed, that we have not adequately thanked the people involved with freeing them, nor remembered those still in captivity. So we offer these paragraphs as the first of several addenda:
We are grateful to the soldiers who risked their lives to free Jim, Norman and Harmeet. As peacemakers who hold firm to our commitment to nonviolence, we are also deeply grateful that they fired no shots to free our colleagues. We are thankful to all the people who gave of themselves sacrificially to free Jim, Norman, Harmeet and Tom over the last four months, and those supporters who prayed and wept for our brothers in captivity, for their loved ones and for us, their co-workers.
We will continue to lift Jill Carroll up in our prayers for her safe return. In addition, we will continue to advocate for the human rights of Iraqi detainees and assert their right to due process in a just legal system.
