Leo Terrell, a civil rights attorney appeared on Hannity & Colmes this evening to defend Cynthia McKinney’s right to beat up a Capital Policeman and turn this situation into a political circus.
This whole interview was gold for those who believe [and know, for that matter] that a large portion of the left is a bunch of race baiters. Leo Terrell, to no surprise, immediately turned this into a race and a conservative/liberal issue. For example, at the beginning of the segment, Sean was about to quote a witness to the McKinney incident when he was stopped by Leo who called the witness a Republican. When laughingly asked how by Hannity, Terrell says because he’s done “his research”. Even if this witness was a conservative, does that mean we can not believe them? With Terrell’s logic, we can not believe McKinney’s allegation that she was illegally touched on the grounds that she is a liberal.
How to contradict yourself in 10 seconds … and go!
TERRELL: No I’m saying to you that this is politically motivated and because she’s innocent until proven guilty.HANNITY: I agree, but she’s not denying she hit a police officer. She hit a security officer.
TERRELL: Well yes she has the right to resist. She has the right to resist excessive use of force.
No, what is politically motivated is your defense of McKinney and playing the race card. Why can’t these liberals ever take responsibility for anything? They can’t even take responsibility for something that happened and admitted to in the process of contradicting themselves. Absolutely disgusting.
A few moments later Terrell asks Hannity why doesn’t the latter ever go on “national TV” and say “that’s a case of racism”. Leo, you do that enough for us. But the fact is Sean Hannity does go on TV a lot and exposes racism. Just look at the amount of times Michael Steele has been on Hannity & Colmes to discuss the hate he receives from Democrats.

Not Ed too!
Award winning director, producer and actor Ed Asner is the latest high profile public figure to voice his support for Charlie Sheen’s stance on 9/11 and share his own concerns about 9/11, the war in Iraq and the Neo-Cons.Speaking to The Alex Jones Show Asner, best known for his Emmy-winning role as Lou Grant on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, echoed Charlie Sheen’s sentiments in stating, “I became suspicious of 9/11 on the day it happened.”
“I will always be that suspect of it and challenge it and challenge various points of it,” said Asner.
Asner agreed that the official story of 9/11 and the Kean Commission investigation was a fable and a fraud.

I meant to add this part to my post about last night’s DisHonors Awards, but it deserves a post of its own. Before I departed, Herman Cain spoke about supporting our troops and the lack of support they receive from several sectors in our society (hmm, liberals). Cain, who I was unaware would be speaking, is a radio talk show host and is a frequent guest and guest host of Bill Bennett’s Morning in America. He is the go to guy on mostly everything, but especially economics. I enjoy listening to him very much in the mornings when he is guest hosting while I’m driving to class. He ran to replace Zell Miller in the 2004 elections, however he sadly lost. Cain is someone who needs to be elected office and whoever wouldn’t vote for him is a fool if you ask me.

(Hat Tip: The Radio Equalizer)
Liberal and Air America host Al Franken and conservative talk show radio host Michael Smerconish appeared on NBC’s The Today Show this morning to discuss illegal immigration and the Bush administration.
SIDE NOTE: Air America is “celebrating” their two year anniversary. The Radio Equalizer has more.
After bashing the administration several times and implying that everyone should be fired because they’re “exhausted”, told Franken was told that he himself is looking exhausted:
SMERCONISH: Yeah, Al sounds a little exhausted to me this morning.FRANKEN: It’s 4:11AM! It’s four in the morning here. Screw you! I got up at four in the morning.
Franken didn’t take the obvious joke lightly, in fact, his response was “screw you”. Franken’s “jokes” and his last line received laughs from not only Lauer but also The Today Show set.

McKinney didn’t make a long statement because her lawyers advised her not to. However, apparently “The Man” is going after her because she is a “female black Congresswoman”.

On CNN’s Live From, correspondent Jeanne Meserve did a story that portrayed border agents as evil racists who refused to save the lives of Mexicans ILLEGALLY crossing the Rio Grande into the United States. In 2004, several members of a group crossing the Rio Grande drowned. According to surviving members, border agents came to the scene mid-way during the crossing and told them to return to Mexico. In fact, one member said the agents told them to go “the f*ck back” and then threw stones at the group. Three women drowned. Al though the drowning was caught on tape, the apparent rock throwing could not be seen and CNN does not note that.
The husband and father of three women who died crossing the Rio Grande is suing the United States for $240 million. There’s a twist though, HE HIMSELF is an illegal immigrant.

Thank you:
WASHINGTON, D.C.—Capitol Hill police plan to issue an arrest warrant for Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-Ga.).The warrant is related to the incident Wednesday when McKinney allegedly slapped a Capitol Hill police officer.
Charges could range from assault on a police officer, which is a felony carrying a possible five year prison term, to simple assault, which is a misdeamenor.
Pelosi says not to make a big deal out of this. Okay, but we should probably make a big deal out of this:

Last night I attended the Media Research Center’s annual DisHonors Award Show and Gala. It was a three hour event which consisted of dinner, the awards show, and a salute to the military. Larry Kudlow, Tony Blankley, and “The Great One”, Mark Levin. Kudlow, who hosts a show on CNBC, blasted the whole NBC network, from Chris Matters and Keith Olbermann to Andrea Mitchell and Brian Williams.
The award show is a spoof of other award shows where Hollywood elites praise each other for making movies that didn’t gross a significant amount of money (i.e. Brokeback Mountain, or “Brokenback Mountain” according to Stan Evans).
The list of all the presenters, nominees, awards, and accepters are available at the Media Research Center. The program is available here.
My personal favorite was “Aaron Brown Memorial Award for the Stupidest Analysis“. The runners up were ..
- Harry Smith, co-host of CBS’ “The Early Show” saying those who took in displaced Katrina families would be ‘Christianized’.
- Mary Mapes who said it was up to detractors to prove the Bush National Guard story was fake.
However, the winner was ..
Ted Turner, well, you’ll see why ..
In an exchange on the September 19, 2005 edition of CNN’s The Situation Room:
Ted Turner: “I am absolutely convinced that the North Koreans are absolutely sincere. There’s really no reason for them to cheat [on nukes]....I looked them right in the eyes. And they looked like they meant the truth. I mean, you know, just because somebody’s done something wrong in the past doesn’t mean they can’t do right in the future or the present. That happens all the, all the time.”
Wolf Blitzer: “But this is one of the most despotic regimes and Kim Jong-Il is one of the worst men on Earth. Isn’t that a fair assessment?”
Turner: “Well, I didn’t get to meet him, but he didn’t look — in the pictures that I’ve seen of him on CNN, he didn’t look too much different than most other people I’ve met.”
Blitzer: “But, look at the way, look at the way he’s, look at the way he’s treating his own people.”
Turner: “Well, hey, listen. I saw a lot of people over there. They were thin and they were riding bicycles instead of driving in cars, but–”
Blitzer: “A lot of those people are starving.”
Turner: “I didn’t see any, I didn’t see any brutality….”
Wow.
The event concluded with a salute to our military which included a video presentation and using an empty table as a symbol of respect for the Troops.
Robert Bluey, editor of Human Events Online, invited me and I had a great time, thanks Robert! UPDATE: Robert wrote about the event here.
Mary Katharine Ham, who I sat next to, wrote about the event at Hugh Hewitt.com.
