Dubai is trying to “shut up” Lou Dobbs:
DOBBS: Dubai Ports World tonight is making what I consider to be a rather astonishing new attempt to silence me and our coverage of this ports deal and our reporting of what at least I consider to be legitimate national security concerns about this transaction. Dubai Ports World has actually refused to grant CNN anymore interviews from Washington or London, and it’s refused to allow CNN to videotape its operations in the United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong if we were to show you the video on this broadcast.This is not the first time that Dubai Ports World has tried to silence me. Last week, a spokesman for the public relations firm that represents the company, Mark Dennis, declared, “CNN won’t shut up Lou Dobbs.” And as a result, they weren’t going to cooperate.

Lou Dobbs is in the polling toilet, compared to FOX Dobbs has been flushed down the drain. CNN is also in the ratings toilet! So, they are now trying to say that they are the only arbiters (somebody or something with great influence over what people say, think, or do) of truth, and that they are the news media leaders in fighting against terrorism against America, even though they have all fought Bush every step of the way in the war on terrorism.
This is not simply an attempt to get their ratings up, it is a case of raging corporate (CNN) megalomania (the enjoyment of having power over what other people think)!

TheRobot: Last week, before this came out on CNN, Fox’s morning show reported that they were being criticized and held responsible for the delay in the ports deal, because of their aggressive coverage. The people at DPW specifically criticized Fox and accused them of trying to stop it.
The only reason people question conservative’s stance on free speech is because we are always complaining of irresponsible, misleading, distortions, etc that is getting spread of some extreme lefties. And their retaliatory argument is always the lame “Freedom of speech, now they are against free speech. I have a right to say what I want to say….?
Plus look at the universities here. All the crap liberals do to prevent or disrupt speeches by conservatives, but when one right winger got the gonads (but it was still uncalled for) to ask Kennedy about an incident he was involved in, as a result he could be brought up on charges by that university. And his outburst was only brief, a one liner, nothing compared to some of the things liberals have been doing.

I too am taking back my supportive remarks now that I learned they boycott Israel, confiscate “western? textbooks from American schools over there because they “portray muslims in a bad light?. This is totalitarian behavior. Plus, supposedly, UAE gov’t is run by the royal family, the royal family owns DPW, and the UAE gov’t has the enforced boycott of Israel, and reps from DPW admitted there would be problems if any cargo to or from Israel tried to get thru their company.

My God man! Blitzer and Arnett gave troop movements to Saddam during both Gulf Wars. Watch their international programs and they are 100% anti-American.
