POTUS: Our country must also remain on the offensive against terrorism here at home. The enemy has not lost the desire or capability to attack us. Fortunately, this Nation has superb professionals in law enforcement, intelligence, the military, and homeland security. These men and women are dedicating their lives to protecting us all, and they deserve our support and our thanks.(ALL CLAP)
POTUS: They also deserve the same tools they already use to fight drug trafficking and organized crime – so I ask you to reauthorize the Patriot Act.

Rep. Price and Rep. Kennedy joined us to discuss energy and what they hope the President says tonight about reforming it. Drudge just flashed that President Bush will say that “America is addicted to oil? in tonight’s State of the Union. When asked what they think about Blunt not leaving his Whip spot if he loses in the leadership whip, Congressman Price says he didn’t mind because there is no rule that says he must step down/
Chairman of the Committee on Resources, Congressman Richard Pombo (California) joined us to discuss domestic energy consumption. He is very much for drilling in ANWR and gave us an idea of how small it is. The north slope, is 100 million acres, about the size of California, and ANWR is about 20 million acres. However, drillers only want to touch about 2,000 out of the 20 million acres.
Rep. Jack Kingston (Georgia) joined us briefly to agree with Pombo’s stance.
Rep. Cannon (Utah) joined us soon after to discuss immigration reform. He is strongly against illegal immigration and wants to crack down on it. He says that businesses paying illegal citizens under the table will stop soon. I asked him what he thinks about punishing illegals who commit heinous crimes such as murder. Of course he agrees, however often illegals are either shipped back to their home country or not punished justly.
Chairman of the NRCC, Rep. Reynolds joined us to discuss the upcoming mid-term elections and the seats the Republicans hope to pick up and tough races throughout the country.
Rep. David Drier (California) joined us to discuss tonight’s State of the Union and how irrelevant Democrats are. He says that the “notion that Democrats have a corner” on lobbying reform is just not true. On the subject of earmark reform, he says that there needs to be greater transparency when a bill is put forward with pork involved. Drier says that all three candidates for the House Majority leader position are great.

Rep. Mike Pence (Indiana), who just came back from the Republican Study Committee Retreat, explained to us the agenda the Republicans came up with in that event. He says that “House conservatives want to marry fiscal and ethics reform” and that is the “only way we can regain the confidence in the American people”. When asked about term limits he says tha he is for two terms in the Senate and six in the Congress.
Rep. John Campbell, the newest member of Congress, joined us after Pence left. I asked him what he thought about term limits and he was for them, however not to be as short as Pence said. Campbell is from California, he replaced Chris Cox who is now the Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and served in the House, where they had a six year term limit for Congressman and an eight year term limit for Senators. He said that they were so short that no one was able to get any legislation done and therefore it wasn’t a good idea, even though he voted for the bill.
Congressman Christopher M. Smith started out by attacking Google for agreeing to hide websites and images from being search that promote freedom of speech and Democracy. He is in the works of getting a resolution to the House floor that stops Google from complying with the communist dictatorship in China. I asked his opinion on the juxtaposition.of Google complying with China but not with the US government trying to obtain information about child pornography being search with their search engine.
Conference Chairman Deborah Pryce joined us briefly after Congressman Smith left. She discussed the contender for her position, however feels comfortable that she will keep her seat. Chris Grisham wanted to know Pryce’s opinion of a woman’s role in war. She believes that any woman who wants to serve at any capacity should be able to do that and she has nothing against that and she “solidly supports? efforts to do so.
Rep. Conaway and Rep. Carter joined us in the latter part of the hour to discuss various things. One thing that they were adamant about is finding renewable energy resources. Congressman Carter is big on punishing those who broke the law. He was friends with Fmr. Congressman “Duke” Cunningham (R – CA), who recently resigned under corruption charges, and thinks he should be punished to the highest extent. Carter is all for cutting earmarks and spending, as well as Congresswoman Katherine Harris, who joined us by surprise. Conaway calls an Iraq without terrorists a “shining beacon” in the Middle East.
Around 3:00pm we were joined by Rep. Todd Tiahrt, who represents the 4th district in Kansas. Tiahrt’s agenda focuses on energy reform and furthering our economy. Tiahrt says that we will definitely be in ANWR soon, no matter what the price of oil will be from there.
Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R – WV, 2nd) joined us a few moments after Rep. Tiahrt left to discuss the back-to-back coal mining accidents in the state. She wants to have more safety pre-cautions in mines, such as a breathing room for miners to wait in if an incident occurs, text messaging, and homing devices for rescue purposes. Chris Grisham wanted to know what the Congresswoman is doing to make sure that her constituents know that the war is going on. Capito said that WV is 6th in amount of military personnel. Paul Seale of No End But Victory wanted to know what victory means to the Congressman. Capito says victory is when we can pull out our troops and reduce the level of our influence in the area. She also noted that more schools and power plants, as well as the election, would lead to victory and success. I got around to asking Capito what she thinks about the numerous violations the SAGO mine received and what will be done about that. She said that most of those violations were minor and a lot of them were paper filing errors, however that doesn’t excuse what happened.
We were later consulted by Ep Patru, Deputy Communications Director of the National Republican Congressional Committee who gave us information on the 2006 Republican Agenda. He talked to us about Democratic spending and the amount of money Republicans have ($35 million) compared to Democrats ($5 million). Later on, we discussed the amount of corruption of both sides. He says the HRC is confident that a Republican majority will be maintained.
I’m here.
