Jack “Ching Chong” Cafferty doesn’t waste any time in blasting Karl Rove with non-proven allegations. Somehow, Cafferty finds a way to jab Michael Brown by making a comparison of him to Rove.

The ‘Question of the Hour’ was like any of Cafferty questions; it was biased and asked in a way to receive a specific answer that he knew he would get.

To no surprise, Jack stops short of a sentence and randomly transitions the conversation from Karl Rove being indicted to Rove being measured for a jump suit. Cafferty also makes an inappropriate fat joke about Rove:

CAFFERTY: He might want to get measured for one of those extra-large orange jumpsuits, Wolf. ‘Cause looking at old Karl, I’m not sure that they’d be able to zip him into the regular size one.

BLITZER: Well he’s actually lost some weight. I think he’s in pretty good shape.

CAFFERTY: Oh then maybe just a regular off the shelf large would handle it for him.

What’s it with Jack and all these references to serving jail time. Is Jack feeling guilty because he didn’t serve his jail time when he committed a hit-and-run on a biker a few years ago?

This isn’t the end of Jack’s somewhat obsession with Rove going to jail for something we don’t even know he did. Jack finishes off the segment with this statement [referring to Rove going to jail]:

CAFFERTY: I’m just hoping, you know, I love to see those kinds of things happen. It does wonders for me.

I bet it does.

    I found it:

CNN’s Cafferty pleads guilty to hit-run in New York

    By KAREN FREFIELD
    Newsday

NEW YORK —Like most journalists, CNN morning anchor Jack Cafferty would prefer to cover news than make it.

    Especially when it’s bad news.

But Tuesday, Cafferty was the story, being met by photographers as he entered a midtown court to plead guilty in a May 14 hit-and-run accident. According to the criminal complaint, Cafferty was made an abrupt turn and hit bicyclist Billy Maldonado.

About five people tried to stop Cafferty by running after the car, according to the complaint, but the newsman continued through at least two red lights, while dragging the bicycle underneath the vehicle. Maldonado, 48, who was knocked to the ground, suffered bruises and some bone damage.

Cafferty was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, assault and harassment. He was allowed to plead guilty to a traffic violation: Operating a motor vehicle knowing or having cause to know property damage had been caused. He was sentenced to 70 hours of community service, with six months to complete it, and a $250 fine. He also made restitution.

Cafferty had no comment Tuesday but the criminal complaint said Cafferty told police he saw the bicyclist get off the ground but didn’t realize he had hit him. “I am unaware I was in an accident,” he said.

Attorney Suzanne Holzberg, who represents Maldonado, expressed disappointment over the proceedings. “I think he got off pretty easy,” she said. Maldonado, she said, still needs an operation on his right elbow.

Is it just me, or does Jack always look like he’s been hitting the “Jack” (Daniels) pretty hard?

I don’t agree with some of the things Cafferty has done or said over time, but I have to admit he has some cajones. He reminds of some old-time alcoholic reporters before they became plastic bubbleheads with no real opinions of their own. I’d say Cafferty figures Rove is guilty because criminals and outlaws can usually identify their own kind.

At any rate, I have no sympathy for Rove, as whatever mud is slung at him is nothing compared to volume of mud he has slung at other people over his career. It would be like having sympathy over a bully that got beat up (likewise I don’t care if Cafferty gets picked on either). At anyrate, if anyone goes down for the Valerie Plume scandal I’d put money on it being Karl Rove, and if he doesn’t, it’ll probably be because I’ve underestimated his ability to avoid getting caught and not because he has too much integrity to do what he’s accused of doing.

one more thing. It’s pretty ignorant of him to imitate Japanese by using ‘ching chong’ sounds. Such sounds don’t even belong to the Japanese language which follow a consonant-vowel pattern with a mandatory vowel after each consonant. So the closest you could get to ‘ching chong’ in Japanese is ‘chinaga chonaga’.

He was obviously thinking of the Chinese language where ‘Ching Chong’ is perfectly permissable but has little actual relationship to Japanese except for a partially shared script. Point is, if your going to fun of something at least have some idea of what your talking about or you just end up making fun of your stupidity.

    Dear Load of Krap,
Thanks for your linguistic knowledge! I hope when Cafferty gets a new liver that he won’t go back to drinking.

A little off topic, but I found this interesting. I was looking for something else when I stumbled on this article below. It sort of solves the whole issue of liberal/conservative bias of news media. The fact is the news can be both and each side will see it biased against their side exclusively.

    Hostile media effect

    “Dear Load of Krap,
    Thanks for your linguistic knowledge!”

you spelled my name wrong. I can only assume you must have done so by accident because to do so on purpose would indicate a level of immaturity inappropiate for normal discourse. I would hate to think that people spend time thinking they’ve gained something because they can insult someones name without actually making any sort of argument. No, I’m sure if you actually had an argument to make or any sort of problem you would have just came out and wrote down what’s on your mind, so for future reference the name is ‘Lord of Karma’.

Wolf Blitzer actually looked taken aback. Cafferty is unprofessional and should be fired. It took far less than that for Rush to have to retire from ESPN. But of course, there is a double standard.

Yet another good reason to hate CNN. In the good old days, journalism wasn’t commentary, it was reporting the news. I think these old buzzards are so frustrated that good blogs like this one (Kudos, Political Teen) are forcing them to either walk straight or come out of the closet that they’re going for broke.

Someone get these liberals a drink.

A driver is stuck in a traffic jam on the highway. Nothing is moving. Suddenly a man knocks on the window.

The driver rolls down his window and asks, “What happened?” Terrorists kidnapped President Bush and are asking for a $10 million ransom.

Otherwise they are going to douse him with gasoline and set him on fire.

We are going from car to car taking up a collection.

The driver asks, “How much is everyone giving on average?”

    “About a gallon.”

They’re going off the deep-end w/this Valerie Plame business. 1st Rove is going down…then Libby…now they saying Cheney will resign. Sometimes I just sit and wonder what it must be like to live in such alternate reality. Do the laws…
