BLITZER: While you’re here, I’m going to switch gears dramatically on you and ask you a question about your brother. As you know, he’s in some hot water for some remarks he made yesterday on his radio show, Bill Bennett, and uh, listen to this exchange he had with a caller:

(plays clip)

BLITZER: Have you discussed this issue with him?

BENNETT: Well no, and Wolf, let me say that I’m rather disappointed in you for not telling me you would ask me about that. This was about Judy Miller and I think that’s a courtesy you could have extended to me.

The Situation Room … the gift that keeps on giving.

Jack “Ching Chong” Cafferty made a fool of himself and chastised Bill Bennett’s recent controversial remarks. Does Jack not remember when he said “ching chong”, when he was referring to those of Asian last year on TV? I guess not. Hypocrite.

At the end of the segment, Jack notes Bill Bennett “gave us [CNN] so much to work with in the past”. Actually Jack, I think you’re the one who gives me so much to work with. With your partisan opinions, hit-and-run, racist comments, and last but not least you’re embarrassing career.

Jeff Greenfield of Commie News Network presented an extremely biased story today on Bill Bennett’s “controversial remarks”. He showed clips of Republicans in the past making race-based comments, going as far back as the 80’s. Greenfield did not show the most recent racist comment, made by one Senator Robert Byrd. Several years ago the Senator said “white niggers” on a nationally televised interview. Where was that Jeff?

Bush is in the low 40s. The nation is going to shit. Iraq is going to shit. His party is going to jail. And he’s still got three years left in his term.

He needs a new slogan to help him rally the public to his side. Give him a hand.

Look no further, you can find this post at Daily Kos. If you want to read some of the intelligent comments by Kos’ Krazy Kids go here.

And these are the people who say there will be a big change in 2006. To be fair these were the same people who said there would be a change in 2004.

An alert B4B reader and blogger, Jeff, alerted us last night that Mark Noonan’s piece Do the Democrats Want a Civil War? caught the attention of Air America host Mike Malloy. Jeff told Mark that Malloy “recommended that his listeners physically assault you several times. I’m not joking- get the tape.”

Full audio is located at Blogs for Bush.

That’s the krazy left for ya.

Ironically, the post at Blogs for Bush will probably give Air ScAmerica some much needed listeners.

Earlier this evening National Review columnist Byron York broke this story:

For the last two years, as he pursued the investigation that led to Wednesday’s indictment of House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, Travis County, Texas prosecutor Ronnie Earle has given a film crew “extraordinary access” to make a motion picture about his work on the case.

The resulting film is called The Big Buy, made by Texas filmmakers Mark Birnbaum and Jim Schermbeck. “Raymond Chandler meets Willie Nelson on the corner of Wall Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in The Big Buy, a Texas noir political detective story that chronicles what some are calling a ‘bloodless coup with corporate cash,’” reads a description of the picture on Birnbaum’s website, markbirnbaum.com. The film, according to the description, “follows maverick Austin DA Ronnie Earle’s investigation into what really happened when corporate money joined forces with relentless political ambitions to help swing the pivotal 2002 Texas elections, cementing Republican control from Austin to Washington DC.”

Side note: Do we need any more proof that this guy is in it for the fame?

Byron appeared on Hannity & Colmes tonight to discuss this story and to argue it with another guest.

Bill Bennett appeared on Hannity & Colmes tonight to tell the truth about a recent comment he made that was taken out of context by the Democrat Smear Machine™:

BENNETT: Well, I don’t think it is either, I don’t think it is either, because first of all, there is just too much that you don’t know. But I do know that it’s true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could—if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down. That would be an impossible, ridiculous, and morally reprehensible thing to do, but your crime rate would go down. So these far-out, these far-reaching, extensive extrapolations are, I think, tricky.

Bennett says this is not his opinion and he was just quoting it from someone else who had the idea.

John McIntyre of Real Clear Politics appeared on The O’Reilly Factor tonight on why Democrats voted against the confirmation of Chief Justice John Roberts. Bill and John discuss other factors that contributed to the vote against Roberts, such as liberal special interest groups and re-election woes. Hillary Clinton was also a topic.

It is reported that she was released AFTER Cheney Chief of Staff Scooter Libby met with her.

UPDATE: Editor & Publisher has this:

NEW YORK Judith Miller, The New York Times reporter who has been jailed since July 6 for refusing to identify a source, has been released, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported on its Web site tonight. Knight Ridder’s news service then carried the account to other newspapers.

It said that an unnamed jail official had revealed that Miller left an Alexandria, Va. jail late this afternoon, at 3:55 pm., adding, “She was released after she had a telephone conversation with the Vice President Dick Cheney’s chief of staff, I. Lewis Libby, sources said. In that conversation, Libby reaffirmed that he had released Miller from a promise of confidentiality more than a year ago, sources said.

Red State and Michelle Malkin are blogging on the breaking news too.
