Senator Richard Shelby (R – Alabama) sent a letter to FBI Director Mueller, SoS Condi Rice, and Aruba’s foriegn minister demanding that more help be sent in the search for Natalee Holloway. Amen.
Pat Campbell appeared on The O’Reilly Factor tonight to discuss updates on the Jessica Lunsford case. In the video is John Couey’s disgusting confession of killing Jessica Lunsford (almost as bad at BTK’s).

The parents of two suspects in custody in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway denied the EquuSearch team to survey their property:
(via Blogs for Natalee & Scared Monkeys)
However, unfortunately the group received a no welcome at the house of the Kalpoe family at Hooiberg.DIARIO was also present, when on Wednesday, 12 noon, the Texas Equusearch team was in the area and was doing a search around the house. That way, the search can be done quickly and if there is nothing found, it can be deduced that there is nothing to be found.
But when they went to knock on the door of the Kalpoe family, [Texas Equusearch] received a You-Are-Not-Welcome-Here attitude. The mother of Satish and Deepak came out, and denied the Texas Equusearch team access on her property. Not even when they explained to her in a well-mannered way that the search would only make it clear that there was ‘nothing’ there, the denial stayed.

The left must be getting to the bottom of the barrel with a sad, petty argument like this:
NY TIMES – When President Bush visits military bases, he invariably receives a foot-stomping, loud ovation at every applause line. At bases like Fort Bragg – the backdrop for his Tuesday night speech on Iraq – the clapping is often interspersed with calls of “Hoo-ah,” the military’s all-purpose, spirited response to, well, almost anything. So the silence during his speech was more than a little noticeable, both on television and in the hall. On Wednesday, as Mr. Bush’s repeated use of the imagery of the Sept. 11 attacks drew bitter criticism from Congressional Democrats, there was a parallel debate under way about whether the troops sat on their hands because they were not impressed, or because they thought that was their orders.
Yeah I am sure they were not impressed since thousands of people were turned away to hear the speech.
My video for the speech got linked by Democratic Underground along with the comment:
.. that has the fox feed of his entrance and speech. Coulda heard a mouse fart.
Sorry guys this is no State of the Union address where the President gets an applause after every paragraph. The President’s speech on Tuesday night was a serious one and was meant for no applause. Well actually there was one part in the address where there was applause, however The President paused because he most likely planned for one.

Ward Churchill is not taking back his statements, instead he says he doesn’t advocate nor suggest any of his statements to be performed. He basically said his statement was “food for thought”.
If you missed the audio of what he said, check it out here.
Denver Post – Controversial University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill says he does not advocate “fragging” U.S. military officers in spite of how recent comments he made have been portrayed.[...] His remarks were posted Sunday on the Pirate Ballerina blog site, which carries mostly anti- Churchill content. On Wednesday, Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly played a tape of the remarks.
Reached at his home in Boulder County on Wednesday night, Churchill said the comments were made merely to spark discussion and not to take a position on fragging, which is the killing or injuring of an officer in combat by a subordinate.
He said that his remarks were being taken out of context and sensationalized in an effort to drive him from his job as a CU professor.
“I neither advocated nor suggested to anyone, anything,” Churchill said. “I asked them to think about where they stood on things.”

I am not happy that the Times caved in, however I’m not surprised either. If they didn’t give up their sources they would have to pay a $1,000 a day fine.
SOURCE – Despite its strong reservations, Time said it would comply with the court order out of respect for the justice system. The New York Times said it was ‘deeply disappointed’ by the magazine’s decision.
Some Lefty’s are upset that the Times’ wouldn’t give up the source (up until now of course). My questions is, where were these people with Deepthroat which resulted in a President resigning?
UPDATE: It seems I pulled a Karl Rove when I said “Lefty’s are upset that …”. I correct myself and will say some.
Lori Byrd at PoliPundit writes about why FOX isn’t covering blogs?
My other complaint about FNC is that they are not doing any blog coverage. Like it or not, blogs are now a big player on the political scene. CNN’s Inside the Blogs segment on Inside Politics has become quite a good production. The length of the segment has increased and the format (especially the large screens for screen shots of the featured blogs) has improved to make it easy to follow the trip around the blogosphere. MSNBC features blogs prominently on Connected: Coast to Coast, and often interviews bloggers on the show. The only blog segment on any FNC show that I am aware of is the Political Grapevine on Special Report, and even there blogs are only occasionally cited as the sources for the information. Get with it Fox!
Lorie brings up an excellent point however I feel FOX thinks they don’t have to talk about blogs because they’re #1. (that’s a mouthfull) This is a response I put on Lorie’s blog:
The blogs thing is quite simple, why should they talk about blogs when they’re #1 by far. (That’s me playing devil’s advocate) I would love for them to talk about blogs, but since they are number 1 they think they don’t have to do anything different than they are now. However the Ward Churchill segment on O’Reilly included Eugene Volokh but he wasn’t mentioned as a blogger but as a professor. And earlier that day on Studio B (Shep’s afternoon show) he had the Judge on to discuss the FEC thing. I have the video up somewhere on my blog if you want to view, but it’s nothing big. In fact the Judge said a few things wrong according to Kremp at RedState.
Until they get their heads out of their asses I don’t think a change will occur.
The Doc appeared on Chris Matthews tonight for half the show. It’s funny how he says President Bush hasn’t said anything he hasn’t before, yet Dean does the same thing. Watch the whole interview :
