WASHINGTON, Jan. 30 – Senator John Kerry said on Sunday that the attacks of Sept. 11 were the “central deciding thing” in his contest with President Bush and that the release of an Osama bin Laden videotape the weekend before Election Day had effectively erased any hope he had of victory.
Are you sure that it wasn’t that people liked him more, or thought that he was better fit to be President than you are? All we hear is ‘outside’ reasons why President Bush won (and John Kerry lost), but not any about President Bush himself. Until the Democrats understand that the reason they lost is because of President Bush himself, then they might as well expect not to win another Presidential election for years to come.

Yeah. So stop telling them lest they catch on! I mean, they’re about to put Howard Dean in as DNC Chair—no rocking the boat until that has been accomplished and the Republicans seal a 65-35 advantage in the Senate, ok?

Yeah, god forbid you have a party leader who isn’t afraid to speak his mind. The Democrats need a soft-spoken guy like Dick “Go f*ck yourself, you big-time a**hole” Cheney.
Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Heh. Actually, Scar, I think you’re right. The Dems absolutely do not need a party chair who speaks his mind if his mind is the same as Howard we’re-going-to-California Dean.
Now, if he can moderate his tone a bit, I think he could be great. I voted for the guy every single time he ran for governor of the Great State of Vermont because he was (in my humble opinion) a really good governor. But he’s been acting like a lunatic for some time and that just isn’t going to play in Peoria.

I think Hitch said it pretty well here. Especially grafs 3 and 4.

And then there’s Kerry saying they’re “not looking for a spokesperson”. That sounds like a turf battle just waiting to happen.
I can’t say that I’d be terribly disappointed to see the Dems self-destruct but it would be nice to have a second political party to keep the Republicans honest. Good Lord, they irritate the hell out of me sometimes.
