The thought of Gregoire stealing the election, now has evidence behind it.

SEATTLE—The day after King County released a list of nearly 900,000 voters who cast ballots Nov. 2, Republicans prodded election officials to explain why the list appeared to have about 3,500 fewer names than the number of votes that were actually tallied.

If this is true, could this possibly overturn the election results?

Holy Batman..

The United States is pledging $350 million to help tsunami victims, a tenfold increase over its first wave of aid, President Bush announced Friday.

“Initial findings of American assessment teams on the ground indicate that the need for financial and other assistance will steadily increase in the days and weeks ahead,” Bush said Friday in a statement released in Crawford, Texas, where he is staying at his ranch.

And the tally of other nations..

France has promised $57 million, Britain has pledged $95 million, Sweden is sending $75.5 million and Spain is offering $68 million, although that pledge is partly in loans.

Dec. 30, 2004 — A blog — short for “web log” — is an online personal journal that covers topics ranging from daily life to technology to culture to the arts. Blogs have made such an impact this year that Merriam-Webster named it the word of the year.

“There’s a blog for every niche. There’s a blog for every interest,” said technology writer Xeni Jardin, who co-edits the blog boingboing.net.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Two third-party presidential candidates asked a federal court Thursday to force a second recount of the Ohio vote, alleging county election boards altered votes and didn’t follow proper procedures in the recount that ended this week.

Lawyers for Green Party candidate David Cobb and the Libertarian Party’s Michael Badnarik made their request in federal court in Columbus.

The two candidates, who received less than 0.3 percent of the Ohio vote, paid $113,600 for a statewide recount after the vote was certified earlier this month by the secretary of state. They have said they don’t expect to change the election results, but want to make sure that every vote is proply counted.

No this isn’t a joke.

Isn’t the whole idea of a recount is to attempt to verify the winner, not “wrong” counting procedures(if any). In any case we have a winner, George W. Bush. But hey if these guys want to pay the $1.5 million out of their own pockets, I am all for it.

I found an article called “Gratitude” that Ben Stein wrote on Christmas Eve. It is about how greatful we should be that we are free and about others who are not free.

OLYMPIA, Wash. – After three vote tallies and 58 days of waiting, Democrat Christine Gregoire was declared Washington’s governor-elect on Thursday. But her Republican rival did not concede and wants a new election.

Secretary of State Sam Reed, a Republican, certified Gregoire, the three-term attorney general, as the winner of the closest governor’s race in state history. She won a statewide hand recount by a scant 129 votes out of more than 2.8 million cast.

But Republican candidate Dino Rossi, a former state legislative leader and real-estate investor, said the election was hopelessly flawed and that the Legislature should authorize a new election. He won both of the earlier counts.

It looks is af this is it. But atleast Rossi will have the satisfaction that Gregoire will probably not be taken seriously during her tenure.

I root for hurricanes. When, courtesy of the Weather Channel, I see one forming in the ocean off the coast of Africa, I find myself longing for it to become big and strong—Mother Nature’s fist of fury, Gaia’s stern rebuke. Considering the havoc mankind has wreaked upon nature with deforesting, stripmining, and the destruction of animal habitat, it only seems fair that nature get some of its own back and teach us that there are forces greater than our own. Sure, a hearty volcano can be enjoyable. Burning rivers of lava: so picturesque. But a volcano is stationary, like Dennis Hastert after a big lunch. (was that jab really neccessary) It doesn’t offer the same dramatic suspense. Hurricanes are in unpredictable flux. They move, change direction, strengthen, weaken, lose an eyewall, repair an eyewall; they seem to have volition and opera-diva personalities.

So there’s something disappointing when a hurricane doesn’t make landfall, or peters out into a puny Category One.

First of all this schmuck believes in the Gaia hypothesis and even roots for it. If you didn’t know, this hypothesis has proclaimed the earth is one big giant living organism, us the people are virus’, and natural disasters (such as the Black Plague) are sent every once in a while to wipe a portion of us out. I don’t know what Gaia was on when he came up with that crap, but obviously he would have been some environmentalist whacko today. Anyways, back on subject. Anyone who wishes for natural diasters that kills people, takes away homes, and causes potential desease has something mentally wrong with them. I like to see Hurricanes that are big and strong too, just not hitting anywhere near land. Has anyone heard crap like this from a Republican?

And as Rob wished him, enjoy your track back spam James!
